Our Beloved’s Door – Proof of Pre-tribulation Rapture :: By Angela Scohy

Our Beloved’s Door – Proof of Pre-tribulation Rapture :: By Angela Scohy

Revelation 4:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”

Our Beloved will knock at the Door, and we’ll open it:

Song of Solomon 5:2 “I sleep, but my heart is awake; It is the voice of my beloved!

He knocks, saying, “Open for me, my sister, my love, My dove, my perfect one;

For my head is covered with dew, My locks with the drops of the night.”

Those who are the Beloved’s will knock, and it will be opened to us. Jesus is also knocking, desiring for us to hear His voice and open the door to Him. Taking into consideration all the scriptures which mention the door, we see Jesus is knocking (Revelation 4:20 above), but we’re also knocking – because it is our own Door. In a deeper meaning, it’s the door to the house of the kingdom of God, which we’re now part of. He’s our Savior, King, and Righteous Right Hand who upholds us, and He’s the Door behind which we’ll be delivered.

The Hebrew word for “deliver” is H3467 “yasha,” which means “to save, deliver, rescue, bring to safety.” This word is used over 200 times in the OT, and is also the root word of Yeshuah. Acts 4:12 says there is no other name given among men by which we must be saved. And the Lord Himself tells us the same in Isaiah 43:11 – “I, even I, am the LORD, and besides Me there is no savior” (H3467 yasha).

Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”

Luke 11:9-10 “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”

Those verses repeatedly say that those who are seeking the Savior (who is our Blessed Hope) only have to ask, and He will give it to us! Jesus said He is the Door in John 10:9. He’ll shield us from the upcoming torrent of evil as the protective, nourishing Provider and Refuge. Through His Spirit, we are able to open our door to escape because He is able! He will come in and dine with us, and we with Him. “My Beloved is Mine, and I am His” (Song of Solomon 2:16a).

To some this may seem elementary, but this next passage is more proof of a pre-tribulation rapture, so in sharing it, I hope that those who aren’t sure might be able to also see it as well. Jesus actually says here that He used this illustration, but they did not understand what He spoke to them, so then He clarified it. The open door is shown to John in Revelation before the tribulation even begins:

John 10:2-9 “But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers. Jesus used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them. Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.”

The Greek word for saved in the last verse above, John 10:9, once again includes “delivered.” It’s G4982, sózó: “To save, to rescue, to deliver, to heal, to preserve.”

Until we go in through the Door, we’re outside of the Shepherd’s protective salvation, leaving us very vulnerable to attack. There isn’t any other way in, except through Him. Once we’re in, we’re safe behind the veil – that is, His flesh; He will never leave us. Where He goes, we go.

This means we’re either inside or out, with no in-between. The decision must be made, and the answer confessed: Is He our Beloved King and Lord? How He longs to gather all of us into His own righteous arms, where we won’t be prey for the enemy! Jesus said, “Follow Me” at least 20 times in the NT! He repeats Himself because He wants to gather us to be safe – He paid the price so we could be saved. This is a command and exhortation, so we should obey it.

John 12:26 “If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.”

The above verse is similar to the one in Matthew 6:21, which says where our treasure is, our hearts will be also.

Hebrews 2:3-4 “How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?”

Hebrews 12:25 “See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven.”

Eventually, the door to our Strong and Fortified Tower, Shelter, Hiding Place, Fortress, Strength, Shield, and Refuge (take note again that these are all names of protection and safety) will be shut soundly, just as the ark’s door was shut in Genesis 7:16, the bridegroom’s door was shut in Matthew 25:10, and Lot’s door was shut (with those outside of Lot’s door no longer even able to find their way to the door, because they had mocked and were blinded):

Genesis 19:11 “And they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they became weary trying to find the door.”

Luke 13:25 “When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open for us,’ and He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know you, where you are from.’”

Our houses on Earth can be broken into by thieves, who break in to take people captive and want to steal, kill, and destroy. Along with that are moths that consume our garments. This is how the sudden destruction begins: with thieves breaking in, vermin destroying, with the trap and snare (Luke 21:34-35), and it’s why we’re told to store up our treasures in Heaven. It won’t be good to be found still asleep behind any door on Earth when the day comes.

The good news is that Christ gives us a new Spirit and new heart, His own Spirit and heart, so we’re not unprepared for anything or caught off guard. This is promised to us in several scriptures, and there are at least several scriptures that tell us He doesn’t withhold things from those who are His: Genesis 18:17 and Amos 3:7 are a couple of them. More include:

  • Psalm 25:14, “The LORD confides in those who fear Him, and reveals His covenant to them.”
  • In John 15:15, Jesus says everything He has learned from the Father, He has made known to us.
  • John 14:26 says the Holy Spirit teaches us all things.
  • 2 Peter 1:3 tells us “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.”

We have the One’s heart, whom we see at the throne of Heaven before the tribulation begins in Revelation 4:2. Upon believing and receiving, it’s now our Spirit, House, Door, Heart, and Mind (we are given the mind of Christ, 1 Corinthians 2:16 and Isaiah 40:13), and our Lord is our Righteous Right Arm.

Sadly, a lot of this last generation has lowered the message of the gospel, and the power, gifts, and promises we’ve been gifted through His Holy Spirit (I’d say “watered down,” but there isn’t extra water; if anything, it’s extra dry). And we’ve been warned there are unseen enemies who have infiltrated the body of Christ, disguised as light but speaking darkness and robbing people of their joy and blessed hope. It’s time to strengthen the body of Christ, because these things are all written in His Word, and His return is only a footstep away.

In Christ, our garments are replaced by our Savior’s immortal garments. The spacious house our Father has been preparing for us is gloriously filled with treasure and food, is full of rejoicing, and is completely safe from the darkness that overtakes the world during the tribulation. Our house can’t be broken into! We’ll be kept secretly in His presence – great is His faithfulness!

Psalm 27:5 “For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.”

Psalms 31:20 “You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.”

Psalm 32:7 “You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.”

Psalm 91:1-2 “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.’”

Those in Christ have been given His full armor, including the shoes, which are the readiness given by the gospel of peace, so we will be snatched up to safety and hidden in the house of our Father when the time comes for His vengeance and wrath against the enemies. Amen.

Blessings!

Angela
