President Donald Trump is weighing dramatic options toward Iran as Tehran threatens the use of “new weapons.” But if Iran’s future is viewed through the lens of Bible prophecy, an important question emerges: Could Iran actually be completely wiped out?

Ezekiel 38 specifically names Persia—modern-day Iran—among the nations involved in a future conflict against Israel. Endtime Ministries has historically taught that Ezekiel 38 ultimately describes the Battle of Armageddon. If that interpretation is correct, Persia’s presence in the prophecy gives us reason to believe Iran will continue to exist in some form when those events occur.

But Iran isn’t the only potential flashpoint we’re watching.

China expert Gordon Chang is warning that Chinese President Xi Jinping is preparing China’s civilian and military society for the possibility of battle as tensions surrounding Taiwan remain a major concern. Meanwhile, Russia’s war in Ukraine continues, and European intelligence officials are warning about the possibility of further Russian provocations against NATO.

Could these separate conflicts eventually become connected?

Revelation 9:13–21 describes a catastrophic future war associated with the Euphrates River region that ultimately kills one-third of mankind. Endtime has historically identified this event as the Sixth Trumpet War, or World War III.

We’re not declaring that today’s Iran conflict is the Sixth Trumpet War. We’re not predicting that China is about to invade Taiwan or that Russia is about to launch a conventional war against NATO.

But Bible prophecy tells us an enormous war is still ahead.
