“Free” “Palestine”
It’s almost comical to delve into the history of the currently ridiculous “Free Palestine” movement, populated as it is by know-nothings and mental knuckle-draggers. Needless to say, a hallmark of this illiterate bunch is that they see themselves as so sophisticated.
As usual, they are too clever by half.
First of all, they believe “Palestine,” that mythical place like Shangri-La, is in the grip of devilish Jews. The medieval-level Jew-hatred oozing from these pores (think actor Mark Ruffalo and musician Roger Waters) is lost on them. It seems they really believe they are advocating for a downtrodden community, when in fact it is made up of murderous goblins. It is documented (remember the Arabs live-streaming murder on October 7?), satanic, and disorienting to anyone still possessing a healthy soul.
It almost goes without saying that Hollywood is populated with people so stupid, one wonders how they can drive, wash clothes, and eat food. On a basic level, they are hapless dopes.
So then, it’s a given they know nothing of history. For them, history only goes back about five minutes. They don’t know for example that a hundred years ago, Palestinians were Jews, too. Anyone living in then-Palestine. The currency had three languages: English, Arabic, and Hebrew. In fact, there is no mention in history of “Palestinian Arabs” until after 1967, when the Arabs got a wedgie from the IDF. Look it up yourself. Check the NYT archives and you will only see “Palestinians” (read: Arabs) after the Six Day War. That’s when the Soviets schooled Yasser Arafat in terrorist propaganda. Can’t defeat Israel on the battlefield? Create the “Palestinians.”
None of the new-generation “artists” knows any of this. They also haven’t been to Israel. They’re too self-absorbed in their own embarrassing careers to know better. Ruffalo? He’s as dumb as a box of iron skeleton keys the Arabs claim go to homes lived-in by Jews.
So it would come as some surprise that past Hollywood artists had a different take on this. I just finished reading a terrific article by Rafael Medoff, who does know the history. Get a load of this:
“The rapper Macklemore is not the first cultural celebrity to champion the cause of ‘Free Palestine.’ But when many of America’s leading celebrities called for a ‘Free Palestine’ eighty years ago this week, they were talking about freeing Palestine from British occupation, in order to establish a Jewish state.
“The pro-Zionist play ‘A Flag is Born’ debuted on Broadway in September 1946, starring a sensational young actor named Marlon Brando. The play was organized by the American League for a Free Palestine (AFLP), a political action committee better known as the Bergson Group.
“Hundreds of thousands of Holocaust survivors were languishing in postwar Europe in the autumn of 1946, and the British were preventing them from reaching the Holy Land. Academy Award-winning screen writer Ben Hecht authored ‘A Flag is Born’ to promote the cause of Jewish immigration and statehood.”
Originally, a Free Palestine meant wresting control from brutal British rule. Actually, it would have meant taking control from the Romans. The Jews were successful with the former, but not with the latter. That’s why it took 1,900 years to form a Jewish state, which was done in 1948.
That’s what “Free Palestine” historically meant. Not a group of killer Arab thugs wanting a 23rd Arab state in the Middle East and leaving the Jews to wander the earth again.

“As a gesture of solidarity, Brando and his colleagues performed in ‘Flag is Born’ for the minimum Actors’ Guild wage. Brando championed the Jewish cause offstage, too. He became, as he put it, ‘a kind of traveling salesman’ for the ALFP, giving speeches around the country about the international community’s abandonment of the Jews during the Holocaust and the need for a Jewish state.
“Brando was just one of many stars of stage and screen who were active in the American League for a Free Palestine. Among those whose names appeared on the many full-page newspaper ads that the AFLP sponsored, or who took part in the group’s other activities, were:
— comedians Harpo Marx, Carl Reiner, Jerry Lewis, Sid Caesar and Phil Silvers;
— actors Vincent Price, Jimmy Durante, Charles Blackmer (“The Great Gatsby”), Cedric Hardwicke (“The Ten Commandments”), Canada Lee (“Cry, the Beloved Country”), Harry Davenport (“Gone With the Wind”), and Katherine Warren (“The Big Sleep”);
— singers Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, pianist Vladimir Horowitz, and conductor Leonard Bernstein;
— David O. Selznick, producer of “Gone With the Wind”; Edward Buzzell, director of the Marx Brothers movies; and famed Broadway producer Max Gordon.”
Wow. What a different world we live in.
Realize this: our culture is crumbling. In yesteryear, many artists rallied to the Jewish cause if for no other reason than the Holocaust was next-level horror. The current crop of idiots—true idiots—do not live in reality.
And they’re happy about it.
