On Aug. 17, 2026, it was reported that Syria was on the verge of allowing Turkey to deploy troops at a Syrian military airbase at Aleppo.
Israel had warned Syria that Israel would not tolerate threats to its security, but Syria ignored it.
Israel attacked the base.
On Aug. 19, 2026, Israeli Prime Min. Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that the Israeli Air Force struck a Syrian airbase in northwestern Syria.
According to Netanyahu, “Israel repeatedly warned Syria that such a deployment would pose a threat to Israel’s security.”
He said that Israel “would welcome a return to the status quo.”
On Aug. 20, 2026, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned Turkish Pres. Recep Tayyip Erdogan not to test Israel’s determination to defend itself, accusing the Turkish leader of dragging his country into “dangerous adventures” in Syria.
In a message posted on Twitter, Katz said that Erdogan would be better off continuing to deliver empty, fantastical speeches against Israel in the Turkish parliament rather than testing Israel’s determination to defend itself.
Many years ago, I read that Israel is well aware of what Ezekiel 38-39 and Isaiah 17 say.
Israel has long expected to have to defend itself against Iran, Turkey, Russia, and several of their Islamic allies on the mountains of Israel.
I even read that they designed a tank specifically to fight a war on the mountains of Israel.
Israel is right to warn Syria that Israel will not tolerate Israel’s enemies moving forces into Syria that will threaten Israel.
Turkey has called for the destruction of Israel.
They say it is the duty of humanity to do it.
Here are some recent events that seem to indicate that the end of the age is close:
One, on Aug. 20, 2026, Harbinger’s Daily posted an article by Amir Tsarfati (Messianic Jew, Bible prophecy teacher, author, etc.) that says in part:
- It doesn’t matter who controls Syria—whether it’s the Assad regime or now Ahmed al-Sharaa—we know Biblically that there has to be a future cataclysmic event that will cause Damascus to cease from being a city (Isaiah 17:1).
- The situation in the nation remains turbulent.
- It’s not as though Syrian leadership became saints once Assad fell.
- A few days ago, Syrian Arab Army chants were heard from the Grand Mosque in Damascus, shouting, “A storm has risen! Rain down destruction in the heat of battle! Coming for you, Jew, I am coming at you like a mountain of fire! Making ammunition for you out of my own body! Making rivers out of your blood! Allahu Akbar!”
- Notice, they don’t say “Zionist” or “Israelis”—they aimed their threat directly at Jews.
- It’s plain and simple.
- That’s the new Syrian military—not the old one—comprised of ISIS and Al Qaeda militants.
- They are still consumed with hatred for Jewish people and are wishfully thinking of flowing “rivers” of Jewish blood.
- That’s why Israel, post-October 7th, will not tolerate its borders being filled anymore with this type of murderous antisemitic ideology.
- That’s why Israel must maintain a security zone on the border with Syria.
- That’s why Israel must not let the monster grow.
- Over the last few weeks, Israel noticed that there was suspicious activity at the Abu al-Duhur airbase, which was abandoned in 2013, not far from the border with Turkey near Idlib.
- There is an interesting line running between three locations: (1) The Abu Ad-Duhur airbase; (2) Site 99 — where Syria was holding nuclear material, enriched uranium; and (3) The Al-Kibar facility — a site previously destroyed by Israel where Syria had built a nuclear reactor.
- Over the last few days, we learned that Turkey has begun meddling in the vicinity of these locations, including a Turkish delegation that visited the Abu Ad-Duhur airbase, preparing to deploy Turkish forces, F-16s, drones, and missiles on Syrian soil.
- The aim of the Turks is to encroach toward the border with Israel, starting from the north and pushing further and further toward the center of Syria. Without intervention, before you know it, they will be on the border next to the Golan Heights.
- With a shared border with Israel, Turkey hopes to eventually fulfill its dreams of walking into Jerusalem to “liberate” it—a goal they discuss openly.
- Alongside Turkish activity in the region, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) released the information uncovering more undeclared nuclear material in Syria—tons of it.
- Israel quickly realized that something fishy was afoot and took preemptive measures.
- This is huge.
- Israel essentially drew a line against Turkish President Erdogan.
- We can clearly see direct linkage between what is going on in Syria and the alliance that is forming against Israel.
- In addition, the destruction of Damascus might be the greatest catalyst for the Ezekiel war.
- When we consider Turkey’s personal investment in Syria, as well as that of Iran and Russia, it is reasonable to examine whether this might also ignite the flame for the coalition detailed in Ezekiel 38 to make its move.
(BTW: God said He will put hooks in the jaws of Russia’s dictator and drag Russia, Iran, Turkey, and several more of their Islamic allies onto the mountains of Israel and destroy them there, Ezek. 38:4).

Two, concerning an increase in the frequency and intensity of natural disasters at the end of the age: on Aug. 19, 2026, the downtown Kansas City airport was struck by thunderstorms and three inches of hail.
Airport officials asked, “Who would have thought our snow crews would have to do snow removal in August?”
The airport was temporarily closed.

Three, concerning the Antichrist coming from the EU: on Aug. 21, 2026, a reader sent me this comment by Amir Tsarfati:
- People ask me why I believe the future evil leader of the world will rise from Europe.
- It’s simple – that part of the world once produced the empire that destroyed Jerusalem and its Temple in AD 70.
- Today, Europe is becoming so spiritually dark that the enemy will once again use that region as a center of deception and calamity.
- Look at this statement: The UK, France, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands are drowning in the consequences of uncontrolled Islamic immigration and progressive foolishness, yet somehow they find the time and urgency to tell the Jews where they can and cannot build homes in their ancestral homeland.
- Europe once stood against the Jewish people in their dispersion. Now it increasingly stands against them in their restoration.
- The stage is being set.

Four, concerning a global economic collapse early in the Tribulation Period: on Aug. 23, 2026,
- The government of Iran said it believes hostilities in the Persian Gulf region are likely to resume in the coming days.
- Iran is waiting for U.S. Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent to announce the new U.S. “Economic Warfare” against Iran (Pres. Trump called it an “Economic D-Day”).
- Bessent is scheduled to announce these new efforts on August 24, 2026.
- Once the new methods are announced, Iran has made clear that any country that joins in the U.S. effort will be considered to be engaging in an Act of War upon Iran – and will be brutally attacked militarily.
- Then, specifically mentioning Persian Gulf countries, Iran said not one drop of oil will flow from the Persian Gulf, triggering a global energy crisis and economic disaster.

Finally, are you Rapture Ready?
If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God, who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.
