Hurricane Fausto expected to trail north of Hawaii, with Tropical Storm Genevieve poised to rapidly intensify. Fausto, or its remnants, will track just north of the Hawaiian Islands Tuesday into Wednesday. The strongest winds will be kept away from the islands. Genevieve is forecast to be a Category 4 hurricane. Fortunately, current forecasts indicate it’s expected to remain over the open eastern Pacific, posing no threat to land.

Triple-digit heat is slated to roast a large portion of the central United States through the final days of July as a massive, record-smashing heat dome will build east. The shift comes amid a stifling heat wave across much of the interior West.
Dangerous, life-threatening heat wave bakes more than 85M Americans across 20 states with triple-digit temperatures. Hazardous conditions are expected to persist through Sunday and Monday. While this heat dome may weaken slightly by the middle of next week, models indicate it will dramatically strengthen and shift back west over the Desert Southwest heading into the first weekend of August.
