How Deep the Father’s Love :: By Dennis Huebshman

While it’s not easy for us to fully understand, our Creator is made up of three entities in one Godhead – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In John 16:13-15, Jesus said: “When the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take what is Mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is Mine, therefore, I said that He will take what is Mine and declare it to you.” (ESV – all emphasis is mine.)

Even though the apostles were sad that Jesus said He would be leaving them, in John 16:7 He told them: “Nevertheless, I tell you the truth; it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send Him to you.”

Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20: “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, Whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”

Also, Ephesians 1:13-14: “In Him, you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your Salvation, and believed in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, (19) Who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of His Glory.”

All who receive and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior will have the Holy Spirit within them from that time forward. This in no way means we will never sin again, as we will do so as long as we’re in these fallible human bodies. That’s why we have 1 John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

When we confess to the Father, we are telling Him what He already knows, so don’t try to cover it up. Just state that you did such-and-such, and ask Him to forgive you of it. If we’re going to boast, follow Galatians 6:14: “But far be it from me to boast except in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.”

In 2 Thessalonians 2:6-7: “And you know what is restraining him (ultimate antichrist” now so that he may be revealed in his time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only He who now restrains it will do so until He is out of the way.”

The 2 Thessalonians verses are important to all believers. When the “Restrainer” is removed, that would be the Holy Spirit. When that happens, all He indwells will be removed and taken up to meet Jesus in the air, which is known as the Rapture.

For all who have not received and accepted Jesus as their Savior,. When the tribulation starts, they will be entering the worst time that this earth has ever experienced. Once the Rapture starts, it will be over “in the twinkling of an eye” (1 Corinthians 15:52). No one will be able to call out and be included in that short time.

We’re told in 2 Peter 3:9 that our Heavenly Father does not want anyone to fail and go through the tribulation/wrath. However, He will force no one either way and leaves the choice to each of us.

After all, He provided us with the only pure-blood sacrifice available through the death, burial and resurrection of His Son, Jesus, the Christ. He could very well have said we weren’t worth all the effort, but His love goes way beyond all of our understanding.

Stuart Townend of the United Kingdom wrote a hymn, “How Deep the Father’s Love” in 1995.

1.) How deep the Father’s love for us; how vast beyond all measure, that He should give His only Son to make a wretch His treasure. How great the pain of searing loss, the Father turns His face away, as wounds which mar the Chosen One, brings many sons to glory.

2.) Behold the Man upon a cross, my sin upon His shoulders; ashamed, I hear my mocking voice call out among the scoffers. It was my sin that held Him there until it was accomplished; His dying breath has brought me life – I know that It Is Finished.

3.) I will not boast in anything, no gifts, no power, no wisdom; but I will boast in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection. Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer; but this I know with all my heart, His wounds have paid my ransom.

Townend also has written “In Christ Alone,” “Beautiful Savior,” “The Power of The Cross,” “Come People of The Risen King,” and numerous other great hymns.

We have been provided with true versions of our Father’s Holy Words. However, there are versions that are being put out that are twisting His words to fit what people prefer to believe rather than what the truth really is. Some previously “Biblical Religions” are turning away from the true word and giving messages designed to “tickle ears.”

John 14:6 is very specific: “Jesus said to him, I am the Way, and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Then Acts 4:12: “And there is Salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under Heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” This was from Peter, who finally believed in who Jesus really is.

We do not know how much longer this age will be with us. Even Jesus said no one knows the day or hour, not even Him. Of course, that was when He was in human form and was “lower than the angels for a time” (Hebrews 2:7 & 9). Once His spirit left His human body, He was back in the presence of the Father, and again an all-knowing part of the Godhead (Luke 23:43).

Our Savior is always there to receive any true call for Him to become our Savior. During the tribulation, it will still be possible to call out to accept Jesus, but the price will be at the cost of martyrdom.

No matter what anyone has done in their past, all who truly call out for forgiveness and ask to become a part of our Savior’s precious flock will be saved (Joel 2:32, Acts 2:21 and Romans 10:13).

It’s your eternity, your choice. Lake of fire with Satan and all his demons, or eternal life in Heaven with Jesus and all the saints that will be there.

Today would not be too early to receive and accept Jesus as your Savior.

Shalom!
