John 19:30: “When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, ‘It Is Finished!’ and He bowed His head and gave up His Spirit.” (ESV – all emphasis is mine.)
Every human being that has existed since the first sin that was committed by Adam and Eve in Genesis 3 has a sin nature within us. This will be the case all the way to the end of this earth’s existence.
The only exception is the life lived by our Savior, Jesus the Christ. He became “fully human” for a time to be able to provide eternal life for all who would receive and accept Him. He willingly laid down His life at Calvary because the Heavenly Father could only accept a pure, sinless blood sacrifice to cover the sins of the world. Unlike the continuous blood offerings of animals and birds, our Savior’s sacrifice was once for all.
There are false prophets who state that to receive and accept Jesus as your Savior is not necessary to get into Heaven, and some even declare He had to sin at least once while He was here.
As for the first comment, John 14:6 plainly states, “And Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.” Then Acts 4:12, “And there is Salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under Heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
As for the second comment, please understand that if Jesus had sinned even once, no matter how great or small, the Father could not have accepted His sacrifice for all the earth’s sins. Also, God’s Holy Bible would be worthless words, and absolutely no one would have eternal life in Heaven.
No earthly human blood was ever a part of our Savior’s system, as He was placed within Mary’s womb by the Holy Spirit. While it may seem to be impossible, His blood never mixed with hers, and Joseph was a father to Him in name only.
From the time of His arrest to His human death on the cross, Jesus shed nearly all of His blood. His physical suffering was compounded by having to be completely separated from the Father for the first time ever. When every sin that ever was committed, and every sin that ever will be committed, was laid on Him, the Father had to turn away for just a moment to allow the sacrifice to be successfully completed (Matthew 27:46; Mark 15:34). This was undoubtedly the most agonizing time ever for our Savior.
Once this necessary action was completed, Jesus called out, “’Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit!’ And having said this, He breathed His last” (Luke 23:46).
When Our Savior literally died as a human, His body was placed in a sealed tomb, but His true Spiritual Self was immediately with the Father. Just before His death, Jesus declared this would be so to the repentant thief, when, in Luke 23:43, Jesus promised, “Today you will be with Me in Paradise.” The thief received immediate Salvation and Grace for his repentance and faith, rather than doing good works.
This also tells us that when we breathe our last as a true believer, there will be no measurable interval between our death and entering Jesus’ presence.
It will not be because of any works on our part, as given in Ephesians 2:8-9, but through the grace and mercy given to us by the Father for having Jesus as our Savior. Jesus paid it all, and we owe everything to Him. This was emphasized in a Hymn by Elvina M Hall (1820-1889) titled, “Jesus Paid It All.”
1.) I can hear the Savior say, ‘Thy strength indeed is small; child of weakness, watch and pray; find in Me thine all in all.’
Ref.) Jesus paid it all; All to Him I owe; Sin had left a crimson stain; He washed it white as snow.
2.) Lord, now indeed I find, Thy power and Thine alone, can change the leper’s spots and melt the heart of stone. (Ref)
3.) For nothing good have I, where-by Thy grace to claim; I’ll wash my garment white, in the blood of Calvary’s Lamb. (Ref)
4.) And when, before the throne I stand in Him complete, “Jesus died my soul to save!” my lips shall still repeat. (Ref)
Looking at Romans 10:9-13, we’re given the steps of receiving and accepting Jesus as our Savior. We admit we’re all sinners; believe Jesus is the only Way to receive eternal life in Heaven, and call out to Him to be our forever Savior. Our Heavenly Father will turn no one away who truly does this.
There is only one other destiny that exists, and this will be for all who reject the Son of God. Is it any wonder that all who fall into this category will receive a place in line at the Great White Throne Judgment of Revelation 20:11-15 and spend all eternity in the lake of fire with Satan and his demons? And the sad part is, it will be shown to them that they chose this destiny.
For anyone to believe they deserve to go to Heaven because of their “good deeds,” or because of any monetary contributions they have made, they are actually insulting our Heavenly Father, Jesus the Christ, and the Holy Spirit. No one is without sin in their lives, as told in Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23, and Romans 6:23. Without a Savior, there is no forgiveness.
However, even as a believer, we know we will fall short and sin as long as we’re in these mortal human bodies. Our Father knew this would be so, and He provides us a pathway to forgiveness in 1 John 1:8-10. Our part is to confess we have sinned and to ask His forgiveness. He promises to do so when we ask. After leaving this earth either through death or Rapture, we will be given forever immortal bodies and a mindset that will no longer be subject to Satan’s temptations It will be so wonderful to forever be able to serve and worship our Savior in person!
If you haven’t received and accepted Jesus (Romans 10:9-13), today would not be too early to do so. We are not guaranteed another day here, and your forever destiny will be set, as stated, at your last breath.
Consider which forever you wish to be in, and choose wisely your eternal path. Just don’t wait too long to do so. Your way has been paid for, but to benefit from this wonderful gift, you must choose the one who gave us our full price for it.
Marantha! Come, Lord Jesus!
