The High Desert Prison and the Southern Desert Correctional Center where Roy Bell was incarcerated desperately needs King James Bibles, and we need to send them

The total capacity for Southern Desert Correctional Center is approximately 2,149 inmates, and the total capacity for the High Desert State Prison is 4,176 inmates. Prison preacher Roy Bell was incarcerated in both places, and actually broke out of the Southern Desert facility in 1999. Chaplain Julio Calderin, who we sent Bibles to back in 2022, oversees these two places and is all out of Bibles and needs more. A lot more. I want all of us to be able to supply him with them.

Between these two facilities, there are over 6,000 inmates who need Bibles, that’s a lot of Bibles. But realistically speaking, if we could send 1,000 – 2,000 Bibles each to both those facilities, that would be a huge blessing. Bro. Roy at our Camp Meeting last Sunday preached, with tears in his eyes, how vitally important it is to send King James Bibles to inmates. Having spent 30 years behind those bars, he should know that better than anyone, and he does. When Bro. Roy was preaching and banging the pulpit on the importance of sending out Bibles to those jail cells, revival fires stirred my already on-fire soul to step it up. Here at home, we personally contribute $1,000 per month to Bibles Behind Bars, and want to do more.

I don’t know how long it will take to raise the funds for 4,000 full Bibles, it’s right around $16,000 that we would need to raise to send that many, but I absolutely want to try. I think we will send an opening order of 500 Bibles, by faith, and believe God for the cost of that and the remainder of the balance as well.
