Irony, Arrogance, Insanity, Hypocrisy :: By Dave Hubley

(There is a special message at the end of this article for those who might happen to read this and do not have Jesus in their life and are looking for peace and a way to better understand the present-day insanity and confusion.)

As the reaping of the massive planting of Godlessness by this world continues unabated, I felt compelled to make up this (very limited) list of present-day worldwide, well… in a word, depravities. It is by no means a complete list, but you are already aware of that.

As ever, the Word of God correctly anticipated this human condition and addressed it some 2000+/- years ago (see Romans 1:28-31).

Some deceived individuals will say, “This sort of thing has been going on since humans emerged and evolved from the swamp water that resulted from the Big Bang, so nothing has changed!”

But something has changed. The percentage of the world’s population that has fallen for the lie of evolution, the denial of God, and associated fallacies has increased to a disproportionate number as opposed to those who have both feet planted firmly in the Truth of God’s Creation, His Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ.

The evil mantra of Godlessness has been chanted in schools across the world to innocent little minds, especially since the 1960s, in an effort to program them for service to the hubris and humanism that is the “religion” of the lost. By and large, it has been successful, but not with all of us. God’s Truth cannot be suppressed, and many young people are waking to it, seeking after it, and God is seeing that they get it.

The unbelieving world points to anything except themselves in a frantic effort to find an alternative to counter the burden of conviction brought about by the inner voice God has placed in every person out of His abundance of Mercy.

“So they show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts either accusing or defending them on the day when God will judge men’s secrets through Christ Jesus” (Romans 2:15-16) Emphasis added by me.

Hatred ramps up against Christians and Jews because they represent this dilemma of conscience to the world. Meanwhile, the plague of actions against Israel’s defense of their homeland is reaching new levels, expressed in mindless acts of hatred. This destructive cycle of history repeats itself once again.

In the “end,” Israel will be isolated and deserted by humans, but not by the Living and still very much Sovereign God, who keeps His every promise to all who love Him.

That “end” is drawing very near, according to all prophetic indications.

God correctly identified the root of the problem of this unjustified hatred around 600 BC.

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; Who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9).

Some of the bullet points below should appear in more than one category, as seems appropriate, but for the sake of brevity, I will let you decide which and where.

In order to emphasize my point, I will Bold Print some of the text.

The bullet points are used with permission of Daymond Duck from his recent article, “Perfect Setup,” in which he makes the case for this activity setting the stage for the fulfillment of the Ezekiel 38/39 prophecy.

Irony (blended with arrogance and blind hatred):

  • Iran vowed to launch 1,500 missiles at Israel if Israel retaliates for Iran’s drone attack.
  • Turkish Pres. Erdogan blamed Netanyahu and his “bloody administration” for Iran’s first-ever attack on Israel.

Hypocrisy:

  • The U.S. urged Israel not to retaliate.
  • Biden told Israel U.S. forces will not participate in an Israeli attack on Iran.
  • Russia warned the U.S. not to attack Iran.

Insanity:

  • It is estimated that about 170 drones, 30 cruise missiles, and 120 ballistic missiles and rockets were fired at Israel
  • Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets at Israel.
  • Iran threatened to strike U.S. bases in the Middle East if Israel retaliates against Iran.

God’s completely accurate (as we who love Him have come to expect) description of people who do these sorts of things appears in His Word:

“Like a madman who throws firebrands, arrows, and death” (Proverbs 26:18).

“This is an evil in all that is done under the sun, that the same event happens to all. Also, the hearts of the children of man are full of evil, and madness is in their hearts while they live, and after that they go to the dead” (Ecclesiastes 9:3). Emphasis added by me.

Truth makes an appearance amidst this end-times chaos:

  • Israel said, “The fact that Iran commanded and synchronized the attack with its proxies (Hezbollah and the Houthis), who also launched drones and missiles, is proof beyond doubt that Tehran directs the forces of terror in the Middle East, is behind efforts to destabilize the region, and is the source of the problem in the area.”
  • Israel notified the UN that it reserves the right to retaliate against Iran if it decides to do so.
  • Saudi Arabia blamed Iran for the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel.

This chaotic behavior should not be some sort of mystery to those who have received Jesus as Lord and Savior and, as a result, the gift of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit of God as promised by Him.

“But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you” (John 16:7).

“You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness” (1 Thessalonians 5:5).

Additionally, we are promised that select future events will be revealed by Him.

“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come” (John 16:13).

God, in His mercy, provides us with a view of man’s degenerate behavior from His perspective.

They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant, and boastful. They invent new forms of evil; they disobey their parents. They are senseless, faithless, heartless, merciless” (Romans 1:29-31).

“Forewarned is forearmed,” as the saying goes. In this case, it can be understood to mean that God is preparing us in the “Spiritual” as well as the physical sense.

Now to the crux of this article.

God has provided an abundance of proof of His Sovereignty and His intent for mankind, and He made it clear how great His Mercy is and continues to be for the present.

“The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9).

He has also made it clear that there is a time that He has set when He will initiate His plan for bringing human history to a close (see Revelation 6:1-17).

He has also made it clear that you must choose between Truth or lies, Life or death.

“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19).

And He, in Jesus Christ, who is Life and Truth, reiterates this choice that you must make, and that you must make in your living years.

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).

You do not have to go down with this blind and lost world system and those who willfully refuse the Truth, as God has determined to be the fate of those who do.

“and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness” (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12). Emphasis added by me.

I pray that you will choose Life and open your door to Jesus.

The special message I promised you:

For anyone who may read this article and has not trusted in Jesus Christ and therefore has no hope or peace in your life.

You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior. The peace that passes understanding.

It requires that you come before God on His terms.

And, what are His terms according to His Word?

  • Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
  • Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
  • That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
  • To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
  • Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross and rose from the grave three days later, conquering death, just as He promised.
  • To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.

God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.

  • No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
  • No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
  • Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.

If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying, “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.

“Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).

There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.

The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God, with all your heart, He will hear you.

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
