Trump is Right: Laws Across the Middle East to Prevent Normalization with Israel are ‘Crazy’ and Poisonous. As long as Arabs and Muslims are taught that contact with Israelis is forbidden, the prospects for peace and coexistence will remain out of reach. There can be no stability in the Middle East while anti-normalization laws and campaigns persist. Such laws and campaigns only empower extremists and terrorists who seek Israel’s and the region’s destruction.

(Update: the rains came as predicted.)

Israel urged the US to continue its naval blockade, to increase pressure on Iran, and leave it a choice: ease its negotiating positions or face greater instability, potentially renewed US-Israeli military action. Israeli officials discussed the option of broad strikes targeting Iran’s energy infrastructure.
Rubio rejects new Iranian proposal to reopen Strait of Hormuz; future of talks in limbo. Rubio said, “What they mean by opening the straits is, yes, as long as you coordinate with Iran or we’ll blow you up, and you pay us. That’s not opening the straits. Those are international waterways. They can’t normalize, nor can we tolerate them trying to normalize, a system in which Iran decides who gets to use them.”
Iranian official says conflict with US ‘likely’ to restart after Trump rejects proposal. A senior Iranian official said fighting with the US was “likely” to resume after President Trump was dissatisfied with Iran’s new proposal. The IDF, in light of this, was reported to be preparing for the possibility of the US resuming strikes on Iran.
