On Jan. 19, 2026, the Jewish News Syndicate (JNS) staff reported that Israel’s Finance Minister and head of the Religious Zionist Party, Bezalel Smotrich, said:
- Israel should issue Hamas a short ultimatum for disarmament and true exile, and once it expires—Israel should storm Gaza with all its might, destroy Hamas militarily and civilly, open the Rafah crossing with or without Egyptian consent, and allow Gaza residents to leave and seek their future elsewhere, where they won’t endanger the future of our children.
- This was the simple, self-evident position of the overwhelming majority of Israelis in the days after the massacre that began this war, and I’m sure it still reflects the majority view of Israelis who have awakened from the illusion and realized that the only way to guarantee our security, with God’s help, is to take responsibility—not run from it.”
As I understand it, Smotrich was saying:
- Israel shouldn’t look to the UN, U.S., a Board of Peace, or anyone else to guarantee its security.
- Believing any or all of these groups will guarantee Israel’s security is an illusion.
- The only way for Israel to guarantee its security is for Israelis to seek God’s help and take responsibility for securing their own nation.
On Jan. 19, 2026, William Koenig posted an article written by his wife Tania, which reveals what God’s Word says about Gaza in the book of Zephaniah and in the book of Zechariah.
Tania Koenig wrote:
- Any plan that speaks of reconstruction, prosperity, or governance while assuming this work can be skipped, outsourced, or replaced is not peace. It is illusion.
- For those who watch the fulfillment of end-times prophecy seriously, this movement cannot be separated from the prophetic texts that speak directly about Gaza.
- I approach these Scriptures with sobriety and continuity, having studied and taught them for decades.
- Prophecy is not meant to excite or alarm, but to reveal order, sequence, and consequence as history unfolds.
Concerning what God told the prophet Zephaniah to write (in Zeph. 2:4-7), Koenig said:
- The structure of the text is critical. Gaza is not simply destroyed. It is emptied. The authority that governs it is removed. The land is stripped of violent control. Only after that clearing does Zephaniah describe restoration, and the restoration he describes is not coexistence with armed hostility, but possession, rest, and security.
Concerning what God told the prophet Zechariah to write (in Zech. 9:
- Zechariah does not describe negotiation. He describes removal.
- The pride of Philistia is cut off. The violent authority that fed on blood is taken away. The language of blood from its mouth is judgment against a system that lives by violence, consumes bloodshed, and sustains itself through terror.
Koenig sums it up this way:
- Zechariah, like Zephaniah, insists on order.
- The land does not change while violent authority remains intact.
- The transformation comes after the pride, the bloodshed, and the ruling power are removed.

(My comment: Smotrich is right: The only way for Israel to guarantee its security is for Israelis to seek God’s help and take responsibility for securing their own nation. And it is my understanding that the prophecies of Zechariah and Zephaniah will be fulfilled at the Second Coming of Jesus.)
(Update: On Jan. 22, 2026, U.S. envoy Jared Kushner unveiled a streamlined master plan to rebuild and economically transform the Gaza Strip, presenting the proposal during the signing of U.S. President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace charter at the World Economic Forum in Davos.)
Here are some recent articles that seem to indicate that the end of the age is near:
One, concerning a declaration of Peace and Safety by world leaders: on Jan. 21, 2026, Pres. Donald Trump hosted a signing ceremony on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, for the founding members of the Board of Peace, his newly formed organization dedicated to world peace and security (peace and safety).
Trump said, “We’re going to have peace in the world, and boy, wouldn’t that be a great legacy for all of us.”
Two, concerning the New World Order (world government): on Jan. 22, 2026, it was reported that even though Pres. Trump and his team have taken a blowtorch to globalism at the World Economic Forum (WEF), elites were firm in their resolve that the march towards a new world order will not stop, but patience is key.
Canada’s Prime Min. Mark Carney declared Canada and others must pick up the slack and push forward to ensure a world order without the United States as a major player.
He added that supportive nations have the power to build a new order that encompasses their values, such as respect for human rights, sustainable development, and solidarity.
He continued, globalization must win out, explaining that a world of fortresses where nations make their own decisions will result in chaos and a failure to achieve the United Nations’ charge for global governance through schemes such as the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 Agenda.
According to the article, the oligarchs united to destroy America at the United Nations, the World Economic Forum, the Bilderberg Group, and the Council on Foreign Relations have a simple remedy for Trump’s crusade to reclaim U.S. sovereignty: wait out, outspend, and out-organize the opposition.

(My comment: The UN and WEF effort to establish a one-world government by 2030 or sooner if possible is not over, and Trump will probably be out of office before 2030. God’s Word will be fulfilled, and a world government will rise under the Antichrist.)
(Update: On Jan. 22, 2026, it was reported that thousands of Canadians in Alberta have signed a petition to separate from Canada. Leaders have 120 days to get 177,000 signatures on the petition, and they believe they can get millions.)
Three, concerning the WEF and world government: on Jan. 20, 2026, Geoffrey Grider, NTEB writer, posted the following:
- The enemies of God are out of the closet, bold and brazen, and today at the globalist World Economic Forum in Davos, one of our favorite end times villains, Yuval Noah Harari, declared that AI will take overand control the ‘words of God, ’ specifically mentioning the ones found in the Jewish Bible.
- Talk about a 21st-century version of “Yea, hath God said?” Harari, like Lucifer in Isaiah 14, is shaking his fist at God and literally daring Him to stop the AI takeover of His words.
- As we like to remind you, this world is preparing itself to receive the Antichrist, of whom Yuval Noah Harari would seem to be the forerunner.
(My comment: Globalists would love to destroy the Word of God, but it is indestructible, and they cannot stop God from calling and sealing the 144,000 Jewish evangelists, the Two Witnesses, or the angel that will fly through the air and preach the everlasting gospel to everyone on Earth.)
Four, one year ago, Pres. Trump notified the World Health Organization (WHO) of his intent to withdraw (I think a one-year notification was required) the U.S. from that organization.
On Jan. 22, 2026, America’s withdrawal became official.
Five, on Jan. 21, 2026, Pres. Trump held a signing ceremony for his Board of Peace to take over part of Gaza.
About that time, the National Weather Bureau started issuing warnings that a dangerous ice and snow storm was going to impact millions of people in the U.S.
(My comment: I am predicting that William “Bill” Koenig of “Eye-to-Eye” fame will be all over this, and for many good reasons.)
(Update: On Jan. 22, 2026, Pres. Trump called it a “Record Cold Wave expected to hit 40 States.” He added that he has “rarely seen anything like it before.” He asked, “Could the Environmental Insurrectionists please explain whatever happened to global warming?”)
(My question: Why is the U.S. willing to divide Israel when God said His judgment will fall on those who do? God promised to bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel, so why would the U.S. deliberately agree to give part of Gaza to Israel’s enemies?)
(Statistics: On Jan. 26, 2026, Fox Weather reported: Historic 2,300-mile winter storm across 40 states; 245 million people under life-threatening travel conditions; more than 32,000 flights cancelled; 190 million people under winter weather alerts; and life-threatening conditions will continue to exist even after the snow and ice stops falling.)
Six, concerning ILLEGAL immigration, a faithful reader sent the following (source unknown), and asked me to pass it on:
- Clergy and others who think that it’s okay for illegal aliens to come into our country and do not want them deported are going against Jesus Himself who said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber” (Jn. 10:1-3).
- The principle has never changed…. thieves and robbers try to get in the wrong way.
- Romans 13:1–7 makes it abundantly clear that God expects us to obey the laws of the government.
- The only exception to this is when a law of the government forces us to disobey a command of God (Acts 5:29).
- Illegal immigration is the breaking of a government’s law.
Seven, concerning hyper-inflation and a global economic collapse after the Rapture of the Church: on Jan. 24, 2026, the silver spot price was hovering around $103.00 per ounce, and gold was approaching $5,000.00 per ounce.
This continued record-breaking increase appears to be happening because investors are still concerned about inflation and the value of the dollar sliding lower.
Eight, concerning the hostages: on Jan. 26, 2026, Israel found the body of the last deceased hostage.
Following confirmation that it was the body of Master Sgt. Ran Gvili, Israel’s Prime Min. Netanyahu went before the Israeli Knesset and recited a special prayer of thanks and quoted from the book of Jeremiah, “Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has granted us life, sustained us and enabled us to reach this occasion.”
Netanyahu said:
- He had promised Gvili’s parents that he would return their son’s remains.
- “The sons shall return to their own borders, the daughters to their own borders” (a paraphrase from the Book of Jeremiah).
- “We have completed the task, as I promised, and so will we complete all the tasks that we have set before us.”
(My comment: With God’s help, all of the 255 hostages from the Gaza Strip were returned and extricated to Israel; 168 alive and 87 deceased. With God, all things are possible; His Word is true, and world leaders would be wise to take notice. Jehovah is the Creator of this world, the One who sent the Ten Plagues on Egypt, destroyed the Egyptian army in the Red Sea, the King of the Universe, the King of the Jews, the One who raised Jesus from the dead, the One who brought the nation of Israel back into existence in one day in 1948, and with His help, all Israel will eventually be saved and come out on top.)
(What’s next? My understanding: dismantling Hamas and establishing a new government before the reconstruction of Gaza. The fight is far from over.)
Nine, concerning the protests in Iran: on Jan. 26, 2026, it was reported that Iran was putting wounded protestors into body bags and taking them to the morgue instead of the hospital.
Iran was one of the Islamic nations that funded Hamas, who raped, tortured, and killed women and children in Israel.
Ten, concerning another U.S. attack on Iran: on Jan. 27, 2026, Pres. Trump said a second U.S. military armada is headed toward Iran.
On Jan. 28, 2026, Trump urged Iran to come to the table to negotiate a “fair and equitable” deal (no nuclear weapons for Iran), and he added that time is running out.
(Update: On Jan. 29, 2026, it was reported that the build-up of U.S. forces around Iran is now complete. The question is what will happen next.)
(FYI: The U.S. and Israel attacking Iran is not the Battle of Gog of Magog. But Iran counter-attacking Israel with the help of Russia, Turkey, etc., could be.)
Eleven, concerning a falling away at the end of the age and the rise of the Antichrist in the EU: on Jan. 20, 2026, British Evangelical Bishop Ceirion H. Dewar wrote:
- King Charles III’s engagement with Islam raises questions about his role as a Christian monarch and Supreme Governor of the Church of England.
- He has drifted from being a Christian monarch to a religious pluralist.
- The tragedy is not that King Charles respects Islam.
- The tragedy is that he appears increasingly unsure whether Christianity is true.
- And a Christian kingship without conviction is not progress – it is abdication.
- Britain does not need a monarch who mirrors its confusion.
- It needs one who reminds it who it is.
(My comment: I believe the Antichrist will rise to power in the EU, but I don’t know that he will rise to power in the UK. I am just pointing out that this UK Bishop believes that King Charles III is abandoning Christianity, and King Charles III is definitely a globalist. Some even think he is the Antichrist.)
FYI: God does not send anyone to Hell (all of us are born with a sin nature and destined to go to Hell because we sin), but God has provided a way (Jesus) for everyone to go to Heaven (and He is the only way to get there; John 14:6).
Finally, are you Rapture Ready?
If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God, who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.
