In our topical two-part study, The Calling of The Called, we have been examining many passages that speak to the believer’s calling in Christ Jesus our Lord and our responsibilities to this divine calling. Honestly, this topic could take volumes, but we will endeavor to be somewhat succinct in our examination of this wonderful subject matter within select passages.
In The Calling of The Called – Part 1, we examined the topics of The Triune Godhead in the Believer’s ‘Calling by Drawing,’ Making Our Calling and Election Sure, Personal Callings for Ministry, Called and Chosen, and Calling to Freedom and Liberty.
Greek Words of ‘Calling’
Here is a quick review of the Greek words translated call, called, and calling for the believer in the Brit Chadashah:
4341 προσκαλέω “proskaleō” has definitions of call unto, call to, call to oneself, call, call for, summon, invite.
2564 καλέω “kaleō” has definitions of to call, to invite, to call aloud, to be called, to call to name or by name, to be called to bear a name or title, to salute one by name.
2822 κλητός “klētos” has definitions of called, invited, divinely selected and appointed.
2821 κλῆσις “klēsis” has definitions of a calling, calling to, an invitation.
1577 ἐκκλησία “ekklēsia” has definitions of a calling out, a popular meeting, especially a religious congregation, assembly, church. This word is applied and translated to the “church” of Jesus Christ. For this study, we will not be looking into these passages, as I am certain the believer understands that every believer is called out of this world by our Lord and Savior into His church, the bride of Christ.
Underlined Scripture passages are my own emphasis.
Called to Fellowship with Christ and His Sufferings
“God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” – 1 Corinthians 1:9
God’s faithfulness is demonstrated by His divine calling unto fellowship by His Son, for His Son, through His Son, and with His Son. This is an unbreakable fellowship that is solidified in our eternal security as believers and the indwelling Holy Spirit given to all who are born again upon their conversion.
“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.” – Ephesians 1:13-14
“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power…” – Ephesians 1:17-19
Our hope of His calling, for the called Saints of Jesus Christ, exceeds anything we could ever hope or imagine. This hope begins with the Father graciously giving us “the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him[self].” Knowing God intimately, believing and obeying His Word, trusting in His precious promises, and knowing what He has done, is doing, and will do, gives the believer great hope!
“Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ… beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.” – Romans 1:6-7
As in Romans 8:28, Paul refers to us who believe as “the called,” and, as “the called” of Jesus Christ, we are “called to be saints” for His eternal glory.
“Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.” – 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12
That our Lord Jesus Christ could be glorified in us, and us in Him, is a revealed truth that is nothing short of incomprehensible, attained by His wonderful grace, and we should endeavor to be worthy of our precious calling as servants of and ambassadors for our Lord and Savior!
“Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours…” – 1 Corinthians 1:2
As representatives of the church of God, we are “sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints,” joined in fellowship “with all that in every place call upon the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord.” A beautiful unity of purpose for His Saints who call upon the glorious Name of the Lord in the churches of Jesus Christ.
“But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called…” – 1 Corinthians 1:24-26
I am a living testimony that God does indeed call those who are often not wise after the flesh, not mighty, not noble, according to the world’s standards. Paul’s following three verses are an apt description of me, and I would humbly assert most of us who accept by faith the Lord’s calling in our life would say the same.
“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence.” – 1 Corinthians 1:27-29
Jesus elaborated on this foundational truth with an emphasis on humility and love in His Parable of the Two Debtors – one owing 50 pence and the other owing 500 pence – in relation to the sinful woman who anointed Him with ointment.
Concerning the short Parable of the Two Debtors:
“There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?” – Luke 7:41-42
“Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most.” – Luke 7:43a
Jesus replied…
“Thou hast rightly judged.
“And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.
“Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
“My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.
“Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.” – Luke 7:43b-47
Truly, the basest of the world – those whose sins are many before coming to Christ – will often find more comfort, thankfulness, joy, and love in the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ than others who wield worldly wisdom ever do. These are they who come most humbly, thankfully, and joyfully to their call of the Lord and respond with immense gratitude and gratefulness to that Godly calling through the saving work of Messiah Yeshua on the cross for the cleansing of their sins and the salvation and redemption of their souls! What is more, these precious Saints are often the greatest soul winners on behalf of Jesus Christ and His Salvation Kingdom because of all this!!
“For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps…” – 1 Peter 2:21
Michael A. Youssef (a Pastor who, among other labors of love for our Lord, has a wonderful ministry that reaches out to the Muslim world) recently said in his MY Journal regarding suffering and loneliness that can often follow the loss of a loved one: “As believers, we must remember God’s incredible love for us. The pain of loss doesn’t mean that God is absent or that His love has lessened in any way. The cross of Christ is the clearest indication that suffering and God’s love can coexist. Indeed, through Jesus’ sacrifice, God is with us in the nearest way in our sorrow: His Holy Spirit dwells in us, encouraging and comforting us. For, Jesus doesn’t just understand loss; He has experienced it.”
“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” – Isaiah 53:3-5
Returning to our 1 Peter 2:21 verse, we will now cite the rest of the passage that also quotes in part Isaiah 53…
“For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.” – 1 Peter 2:21-25
Jesus Christ our Lord left us an example on how to respond to the sufferings and persecutions all believers will experience in our short lives on Earth. The night before He hung on the cross for the sins of the world, He made these statements to His disciples, and, by extension, to us:
“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.…
“Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you…
“… the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service…” – John 15:18, 20a, 16:2b,
Paul also understood and experienced the sufferings afforded to the child of God and follower of Messiah Yeshua, our perfect Creator, Lord, and Savior, and the glory that should follow:
“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” – 2 Timothy 3:12
“For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake” – Philippians 1:29
“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death…” – Philippians 3:10
“… we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” – Romans 5:3b-5
“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” – 2 Corinthians 4:17-18
“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.” – Romans 8:16-19
James summarized our daily sufferings of adversities, afflictions, trials, and tribulations thusly:
“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations [trials, tribulations, testings, afflictions, sufferings, adversities]; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” – James 1:2-4
Calling to Sanctification
Our calling to sanctification, as we shall see, is a past, present, and future reality for the born-again believer, a lifelong process of growth for the child of God as long as we live in these flesh and blood bodies.
“I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
“There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” – Ephesians 4:1-6
Interestingly, the original Greek word translated “vocation” and “calling” is our Greek word 2821 κλῆσις “klēsis,” while the Greek translated “ye are called” in both references is ἐκλήθητε “eklēthēte” from our Greek word 2564 καλέω “kaleō.” Therefore, our first underlined section could read, “… that ye walk worthy of the calling wherewith ye are called.”
The unifying concepts behind Ephesians 4:1-6 are evident when it comes to our collective callings in one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, in the unity of the Spirit of peace, forbearing one another in love, and the individual characteristic callings of worthiness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering, and love for God and love for others. All of which we are to endeavor to eternally appreciate in loving thankfulness to our heavenly Father and our wonderful Lord and Savior, while we “walk worthy of the vocation (calling) wherewith we are called” in our lifelong sanctification process on Earth.
“Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 3:12-14
If Paul could “forget those things which are behind,” as Paul “beyond measure… persecuted the church of God, and wasted it” (Galatians 1:13) before he was saved by Christ on the road to Damascus, then so should we.
Our sanctification is actuated by our being justified in the eyes of God upon our born-again conversion for what Christ has done us who freely came to Him by His divine calling by grace through faith.
“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.” – Romans 3:24-26
“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began…” – 2 Timothy 1:9
Part of our sanctification process is living a holy and righteous life through our “holy calling.” And this “holy calling” from Him “who saved us” was “given to us in Christ Jesus before the world began,” as God’s sovereign foreknowledge foreknew each and every one of His children before He ever created!
“… whom he called, them he also justified…” – Romans 8:30
After a believer is called and comes to saving faith in Messiah Yeshua, they are justified.
“Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.” – Romans 8:33
This calling of God that calls us to justification and sanctification in the eyes of God is without repentance and is as sure as the Creator Himself!
“For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.” – Romans 11:29
Within our earthly sanctification process, God, through “His divine power, hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness,” and “hath called us to glory and virtue” to “be partakers of the divine nature” and complete that good work which He had begun within us.
“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” – 2 Peter 1:3-4
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ…” – Philippians 1:6
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith…” – Hebrews 12:2a
Messiah Yeshua is the Author and Finisher of our faith, the Author and Finisher of our justification and sanctification, and the Author and Finisher of our eventual glorification as eternal children of God!
Called, Chosen, and Faithful Children of God
One of the grandest realities given to those who call upon the Name of the Lord, coming to salvation by grace through faith in the finished work of our Lord and Savior, is that “we should be called the [children] of God.”
“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God…” – 1 John 3:1
Behold what love, indeed!
Believers, we who are “called the [children] of God,” take note of how we are identified as we return with our Lord and Savior at His glorious Second Coming.
“These [the ten kings and the beast] shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.” – Revelation 17: 14
The bride of Christ and other resurrected Saints “that are with [the Lord of lords, and King of kings]” at Christ’s Second Coming, when His enemies “shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them,” are “called, and chosen, and faithful.”
John, in his beautiful discourse on the believer’s position of dwelling in God and God dwelling in us, in his first epistle, declared,
“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
“In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
“Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
“Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
“Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” – 1 John 4:7-15
This wonderful passage, amongst so many others in the Word of God, assures us that all true born-again Spirit-indwelt believers are called, chosen, and faithful children of God.
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” – Romans 8:14
Calling to Eternal Life
God generously grants eternal life to all who have truly put their faith and trust in Christ Jesus, thereby becoming adopted children of God, as Jesus Christ Himself is the precious gift of God to all who believe in “His unspeakable gift.”
“But thou, O man of God… follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” – 1 Timothy 6:11-12
“Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.” – 2 Corinthians 9:15
One of the greatest treasures of our calling, among many, is the promise of eternal life, which we instantly receive upon our conversion.
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” – John 5:24
“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” – 1 John 5:11-13
“And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.” – Hebrews 9:15
Messiah Jesus did it all for us that “are called,” that we “might receive the promise of eternal inheritance!”
Our Sovereign Calling
Since this subject matter of God’s sovereignty is interwoven throughout our study theme of The Calling of The Called, we will joyfully revisit it once again.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.” – Ephesians 1:3-6
Since God sovereignly foreknew us and chose us before the foundation of the world, His divine sovereignty then predestined us to be His adopted children and to be conformed to the image of His Son:
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
“Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.” – Romans 8:28-30
What a glorious truth! God intimately foreknew us, knowing we would freely accept the glorious gospel of His dear Son and what He did for us on the cross, love and serve Him and love and serve others, and “predestined us to be conformed to the image of His Son,” never to be in bondage to sin again, “justified” and “glorified” together in perfect love before He ever created!
[Note: We hit upon this passage and theme in The Calling of The Called – Part 1, when we cited our study article God’s Sovereignty and Man’s Freewill.]
“Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus…” – Hebrews 3:1
Our heavenly calling was and is and will be a done deal in our mighty omniscient God’s eyes. In fact, in God’s eternal economy, we are already in the heavenlies and have been there since before creation!
“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.” – Ephesians 2:4-7
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light…” – 1 Peter 2:9
Those who are “called… out of darkness into His marvellous light” are “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, and holy nation, a peculiar people,” who, even now and in the Messianic Millennial Kingdom and beyond, are kings and priests of God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ!
“And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” – Revelation 1:5-6
“… the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.” – 1 Peter 5:10
We mention again that suffering is a difficult yet integral component of our sovereign sanctification process by our heavenly Father “who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus” – with our Lord and Savior, Messiah Yeshua, setting the divine example for us.
“And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” – John 3:13-17
Our Sovereign Divine Calling Fully Realized and Manifested
The resurrection/rapture of the bride of Messiah Yeshua is when our sovereign calling to eternal life in Christ Jesus will be fully realized and manifested.
“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” – Romans 8:11
“For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
“For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
“Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18
Following our blessed hope and our marriage to our Bridegroom, we will celebrate in heaven and in the presence of the Father the glorious Marriage Supper of The Lamb:
“Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
“And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.” – Revelation 19:7-9
The distinguished guests of the bride and Bridegroom who “are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb” must be pre-cross Saints and those Saints who will have accepted Christ following the resurrection/rapture of the bride of Christ and have died leading up to this glorious event.
[For more on this topic and its timing, please see Resurrections and The Marriage Supper of The Lamb and Revelation 6: Our Marriage and The Gap.]
Gloriously, our study’s theme of The Calling of The Called in Romans 8:28 will have finally come to fruition:
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28
In the end, as the Scriptures declare, “all things [will] work together for good to them that love God.” Our lives’ experiences, however, show us that, while we are in these flesh and blood bodies in this fallen temporal world, many times things do not work together for good – whether it be due to health issues, abuse, violence, persecution, etc. Yet we can and should have confidence that God will use even these difficult and traumatic trials and tribulations for our ultimate good and His eternal glory, for we are those who are saved by the precious blood of Christ Jesus our Lord “who are the called according to His purpose.”
“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39
In this we must always make known our profound love, honor, praise, and thankfulness to our loving Father, Jesus Christ our Creator, Savior, Redeemer, Lord, and King, and the wonderfully powerful indwelling Holy Spirit that directs our lives as we continue to love and serve Him and love and serve others.
Thank you, Father God, for our divine calling to come in faith by grace to Your wonderful and awesome Son, our amazing and loving Creator, Lord, Savior, Redeemer, and King, Jesus Christ! Amen!
