As of a Nov. 17 report, California was still in the grip of a powerful and deadly atmospheric river as a massive storm moved south along the coast toward northwestern Mexico. The storm has already killed seven and continues to produce heavy rain, thunderstorms, and snow across the state, with conditions worsening in areas affected by recent wildfires.

Several dead in Bangladesh earthquake. At least eight people have been killed and over 300 injured in the shallow 5.5-magnitude earthquake in central Bangladesh on Nov 21. In another article, one person said, “I kept seeing images of my neighbours crying during the shaking and of almost everyone seeking forgiveness.”

Menard County issued evacuation orders as over 254 mm (10 inches) of rain trigger flash floods in Texas on Nov. 20. Also, Dallas-Fort Worth set two rain records in a single day. Dallas–Fort Worth International Airport recorded 3.95 inches (100.3 mm) of rain on Nov. 20, setting new records for daily rainfall and wettest November day on record.

Two dead, widespread damage after heavy rainfall hits Brazzano di Cormons, Italy. Extreme rainfall triggered widespread flooding and a fatal landslide in northern Italy on Nov 17, destroying homes in Brazzano and causing extensive damage across the Gorizia area.

Hamas Tightens Its Grip as Washington Considers Allowing It to Stay Armed. Hamas has spent the weeks since the ceasefire tightening its grip on Gaza. The group has executed opponents in the streets, attacked Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers along the perimeter, and diverted humanitarian aid meant for civilians. Yet Washington is now considering a shift that could leave Hamas armed and entrenched, even as the White House insists it is committed to demilitarization. Israeli officials warn that this change risks turning the current fragile ceasefire into a permanent security disaster.

Netanyahu insists Hamas must be disarmed as US considers postponing Gaza demilitarization.
Netanyahu: “This area will be demilitarized and Hamas will be disarmed — either the easy way or the hard way.” Netanyahu said suggestions that the Strip would avoid disarmament were unacceptable. “There will be no such thing,” he said, adding that “in the 20-point plan, and in any other case, this area will be demilitarized and Hamas will be disarmed…”

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said on Tuesday that Israel will press ahead to “complete the war on all fronts, including disarming Hamas and demilitarizing the Gaza Strip” after acknowledging the deadly ‘Palestinian’ terrorist attack earlier in the day at the Gush Etzion Junction.

IDF carried out retaliatory Gaza strikes after terrorists breached yellow line. Israel carried out a broad round of airstrikes in Gaza on Wednesday in response to security threats against IDF soldiers and violations of the ceasefire. Hamas terrorists breached the Yellow Line — the zone defined as Israeli-controlled under the truce — and opened fire.

Calls for Peace and Safety and The Two-State Delusion

U.N. Security Council approves Trump’s 20-point Gaza peace plan, and Trump is named chairman of the Board of Peace, a major victory for administration diplomacy as it struggles to implement its blueprint for what Trump has said would be “a new dawn” for the Middle East. Number 19 of the 20-point outline says, “While Gaza re-development advances and when the PA reform program is faithfully carried out, the conditions may finally be in place for a credible pathway to Palestinian self-determination and statehood, which we recognize as the aspiration of the Palestinian people.” (Netanyahu insists there will be no Palestinian state.)

France to help ‘Palestinians’ draft constitution for future state, President Emmanuel Macron said on Tuesday after talks with ‘Palestinian’ President Mahmoud Abbas. A number of major Western nations, including France, formally recognized a ‘Palestinian’ state in September, a move driven by frustration with Israel over the war in Gaza and a wish to promote a two-state solution to the Middle East conflict.

PM Netanyahu: Opposition to Palestinian state west of Jordan River remains unchanged. “I have been rebuffing these attempts for decades, and I am doing it both against pressures from outside and against pressures from within. So, I do not need affirmations, tweets, or lectures from anyone,” he said.
