When God Stores Prayers: The Power of Praying His Will
A timeless message from Robert Stroup, sharing how God stores the prayers of His people to bring prophecy to pass.
The Bible clearly teaches that God always answers the prayers of His people—when those prayers are prayed according to His will. That’s the very purpose of prayer itself: to bring God’s will to pass on earth.
The Apostle John wrote,
“This is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” (1 John 5:14–15)
If we know He hears us, we can be confident that we have what we’ve asked for. John understood that prayer isn’t about convincing God to do what we want—it’s about partnering with Him to do what He wants.
Our Role in Bringing God’s Will to Earth
Psalm 115:16 says,
“The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; but the earth has He given to the children of men.”
God has made us responsible for what happens here. That’s why Jesus taught us to pray:
“Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”
When we pray, we’re not reciting empty words. We’re aligning heaven and earth. God is committed to answering prayers that agree with His will—but He doesn’t always answer immediately.
Why God Sometimes Delays His Answers
Hebrews 11:3 gives us a clue:
“Through faith we understand that the worlds (literally, the ages) were framed by the word of God.”
God set every age of time in order from the foundation of the world. That means the events we see today—the rise and fall of nations, prophetic fulfillments, even world powers like Russia, Britain, America, and Germany—are unfolding according to His divine timeline.
So, when you pray in God’s will and the answer doesn’t come right away, it’s not forgotten—it’s framed into His perfect timing.
The Prayers That Outlive the Pray-ers
Hebrews 11 later says that many of the great heroes of faith died without receiving the promises. They saw them from afar, believed them, and prayed for them—but never lived to see the fulfillment.
Did God discard those prayers? Absolutely not.
Revelation 5 and 8 show us something powerful: God stores the prayers of His people in golden bowls before His throne. At the appointed time, those prayers are released—mingled with the fire of heaven—to bring about His prophetic plan.
“The smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God… and the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and cast it into the earth.” (Revelation 8:4–5)
And what happened next? The seven angels prepared to sound their trumpets.
Every trumpet judgment, every end-time event—all were set in motion by the stored prayers of the saints.
Our Generation: The Answer to Generations of Prayer
This means the prayers of Abraham, Daniel, Elijah, Peter, and even your grandparents are not lost. They’re stored—waiting for God’s appointed time.
A prophecy once declared,
“The clouds are already seeded. This generation will be the recipients of the prayers of the saints of the ages. I will pour out My Spirit in a measure beyond what any man has dreamed or preached.”
We are living in that time. The end-time outpouring of God’s Spirit, the unfolding of prophecy, and the fulfillment of “Thy kingdom come” are all happening through the accumulated prayers of God’s people—past and present.
Your Prayers Still Matter
You may not see the results today, but every prayer you pray in God’s will is precious to Him. It’s part of a divine plan set in motion from the foundation of the world.
So don’t stop praying.
Don’t lose heart.
You are sowing into the greatest move of God the world has ever seen.
One day soon, when that seventh trumpet sounds, the heavens will declare:
“The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever.” (Revelation 11:15)
Every prayer matters. Every word sown in faith will reap a harvest—in God’s time.
