BIBLE BELIEVERS SUNDAY SERVICE: My Kingdom Is Not Of This World

BIBLE BELIEVERS SUNDAY SERVICE: My Kingdom Is Not Of This World

Both Jesus and Paul tell us that the kingdom we are a part of, the Kingdom of God, is not a government of this world but rather a spiritual kingdom in Heaven

Jesus told his followers that the kingdom they represented was “not of this world”, and that they should not seek dominion of or through earthly government or armies. When Jesus commissioned Paul on the road to Damascus, He told him that he would testify before Jews, Gentiles and Kings, but that he would be separate. Not a single person in the New Testament joins forces with the government in order to “bring in the kingdom”. So why do we think we could do that in our day? This Sunday Service was preached live this morning at the Bible Believers Church at the Bookstore.

Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.” John 18:36 (KJB)

SUNDAY SERVICE STUDY NOTES: My Kingdom Is Not Of This World

My Kingdom Is Not Of This World

“Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.” John 18:36 (KJB)

Jesus told his followers that the kingdom they represented was “not of this world”, and that they should not seek dominion of or through earthly government or armies. When Jesus commissioned Paul on the road to Damascus, He told him that he would testify before Jews, Gentiles and Kings, but that he would be separate.

They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” John 17:16,17 (KJB)

The Religion of Caesar vs. the Call of Jesus

“Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no? But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye me? Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Caesar’s. And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar’s, and unto God the things which be God’s.” Luke 20:22-25 (KJB)

“And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.” Matthew 9:9 (KJB)

“Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.” Philippians 3:17 (KJB)

To The Fight! But Which Fight?

At NTEB, we say “The war is REAL, the battle HOT, and the time is SHORT…to the FIGHT!!!” But we are never calling people to a physical fight with fists, bats and bullets. We are calling people to the “good fight of faith”.

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” 1 Timothy 6:12 (KJB)

5 Biblical Reasons Against Christian Nationalism

  1. Jesus Rejected Political Power
  • In John 18:36, Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world.” This means His followers were not to seek dominion through earthly governments or armies.
  • When Satan offered Jesus “all the kingdoms of the world” (Matthew 4:8–10), Jesus refused. Christian Nationalism reverses this, seeking to claim worldly power in the name of Christ.
  1. The Early Church Thrived Without Political Control
  • The apostles spread the Gospel under pagan Roman rule — with no Christian laws, leaders, or privileges.
  • They called believers to holiness and witness, not to legislate morality through the empire.
  • Christianity spread by example and persuasion, not coercion.
  1. Idolatry of Nation
  • In Christian Nationalism, patriotism can easily become idolatry — placing love of country above loyalty to God.
  • The Bible warns, “No man can serve two masters” (Matthew 6:24). When “America First” becomes a creed, it replaces “Thy Kingdom come.”
  1. God’s People Are a Spiritual, Not Political, Nation
  • 1 Peter 2:9 calls believers “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation.” But that “nation” is not defined by borders or flags — it’s the global body of Christ.
  • Christian Nationalism tries to recreate Israel’s theocracy, forgetting that the New Covenant is spiritual, not ethnic or territorial.
  1. The Cross vs. the Sword
  • The Gospel advances through sacrifice and love, not domination.
  • When faith is enforced by law or violence, it ceases to be Christian — it becomes Caesar’s religion, not Jesus Christ’s.

Now The End Begins is your front line defense against the rising tide of darkness in the last Days before the Rapture of the Church

When you contribute to this fundraising effort, you are helping us to do what the Lord called us to do. The money you send in goes primarily to the overall daily operations of this site. When people ask for Bibles, we send them out at no charge. When people write in and say how much they would like gospel tracts but cannot afford them, we send them a box at no cost to them for either the tracts or the shipping, no matter where they are in the world. We have a Gospel Billboard program. We are now broadcasting Bible studies, Podcasts and a Sunday Service 5 times a week, thanks to your generous donations. All this is possible because YOU pray for us, YOU support us, and YOU give so we can continue growing.

But whatever you do, don’t do nothing. Time is short and we need your help right now. The Lord has given us an open door with a tremendous ‘course’ for us to fulfill that will create an excellent experience at the Judgement Seat of Christ. Please pray for our efforts, and if the Lord leads you to donate, be as generous as possible. The war is REAL, the battle HOT and the time is SHORTTO THE FIGHT!!!
