(There is a special message at the end of this article for those who might happen to read this and do not have Jesus in their life and are looking for peace and a way to better understand the present-day insanity and confusion.)
There are some straightforward Biblical Truths contained in this article. I hope you might read through to the end with the understanding of these two things:
1) I was a “late bloomer” (40 years old) as far as coming to the place where I finally understood the awful truth of my sinful nature and received God’s Grace and Mercy in Jesus Christ. As such, I must report the Truth of His Word and do so with the earnest hope that you also might join in the joy of knowing the freedom of never being condemned for my sins by also receiving Jesus Christ – God’s One and Only propitiation for sin.
If the good news (Gospel) seems too good to be true, the Truth is, with God, it is actually too good to not be true.
“Blessed is he [and she] whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered” (Psalm 32:1).
2) The time that God’s Word has promised, when He must judge the world for its rebellion and unrepentant sin, appears to be “at the doors,” as recorded in Matthew 24:33 – “So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors!” Emphasis added.
I have been a believer in God, in His Son Jesus Christ, and His written Word for 33 years now, and the Truth of His Word has only become more solidified with time.
It is solidified by the empirical Truth of already fulfilled prophecy that could only come from the Sovereign God. No false god of human imagination dares to go there.
I have heard and/or read many times baseless and foolish statements by people who troll for justifications that they can use for rejecting God and His Living Word (Jesus), and His written Word (the Scriptures).
They accuse Him indirectly, or even directly in some cases (scary), of promoting or supporting/condoning sins that are wholly human: Incest (Lot and his daughters), slavery, adultery, homosexuality, etc, etc, ad nauseum.
They have deceived themselves into thinking that there exists any human, anywhere, that can even begin to find or cause a scuffmark on His floor.
They try to hold God to a standard of righteousness and morality that they claim to possess by implication: Yet they purposely close their eyes to the fact that they are included in the Word of God that puts the unvarnished Truth out for all the world to see:
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23), Emphasis added.
Despite the hubris and (attempted) defamation of His character by human arrogance, He follows up this entirely accurate assessment of humanity with a merciful addition:
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23), Emphasis added.
The dividing line between those who take this arrogant and rebellious attitude and those who still have hearts that have not yet been hardened beyond redemption is becoming more obvious with every passing day.
Unhinged behavior all over the world testifies to that fact.
But there is another even greater danger: Continued rejection of God’s Savior can eventuate in human hearts and spirits reaching a point where, even understanding their dire circumstance, they become unable to repent and overcome their own rebellious nature. Here are some examples of this terrifying Truth: (https://gospelway.com/god/atheists-death.php)
God warns that He cannot allow unrepentant sin to enter into His Rest (1 Corinthians 6:9-10), and that He will have to enforce His promised judgment on those who have chosen to reject His Mercy:
“It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:31).
God has also made it clear to His creation in His written Word that His will is the plumb line for every person who will ever live.
“And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).
In His Mercy, He became one of us, and, though sinless and innocent of all charges and baseless accusations, Jesus stretched out His arms and allowed Himself to be executed in the place of all who have ever sinned and fallen short of the perfect holiness that is required to enter into His Rest.
He gave His life in exchange for ours so that we might have the opportunity to live:
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8), Emphasis added.
Is God being unfair?
His numerous judgments against His people Israel and His city Jerusalem for the same sins that the entire rest of the world is guilty of, and for rejection of their Messiah Jesus Christ, are proof positive that His standards and laws apply equally to all.
“There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For God does not show favoritism” (Romans 2:9-11).
Based on that Truth, God will execute judgment on the rest of the world for those exact same reasons.
Now to the crux of this article.
If a parent trains their children up to obey the laws and they become a lawbreaker, are the parents guilty of any wrongdoing?
If a news journalist reports criminal activities, are they then also guilty of committing them simply because they reported them?
Therefore, while no judgment of God is possible or permissible by any human, the same standard applies to the recorded historical record contained in His written Word.
This is a very simple principle…and attempting to insinuate evil on God’s part, or to accuse Him of such things, is to wade in very perilous waters.
Only God, so far above human comprehension, can safely report sinful human behavior out of His own Mercy, and it bears no reflection of His own character.
He reports the sin in order to illustrate the consequences that result from it, and He does that because He does not want anyone to perish. Me. You. Anyone who will humble him or herself and seek Him in humility and repentance.
“You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 23:13).
God’s Word reports the manifestation of human evil that will, out of spiritual blindness and arrogance, challenge the veracity of His Word, and by implication, His very integrity:
“’Where is the promise of His coming?’ they will ask. ‘Ever since our fathers fell asleep, everything continues as it has from the beginning of creation’” (2 Peter 3:4), Emphasis added.
Those who mock and deride El Shaddai, God Almighty, will get their answer, but it will be in God’s own timing and in His power, the reality of which has been proven by virtue of already fulfilled prophecy contained in His Word. Mockery will have consequences.
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap” (Galatians 6:7).
As the end of the age approaches, there is increasing urgency about reminding people that they must make a decision about Jesus.
To repent and receive Jesus means your name will be found in the Book of Life.
Rejecting Him means your name will be erased from the Book of Life.
Choosing not to make a decision is choosing to reject Him.
Whichever way one decides, the consequences are permanent.
God’s Word makes it very clear:
“Anyone whose name was not found written in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15).
Rejection of the Truth of Jesus, the Living Word, is a result of the spiritual vacuum that exists today and is a result of the world’s rejection of the Truth of God’s written Word.
To this day, Jesus stands ready to save “anyone” who will open their door to Him.
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).
No matter who you are or what you have done (except rejection of Jesus Christ), you can be saved from the consequences of your sins if you repent and receive Him.
“Truly I tell you, the sons of men will be forgiven all sins and blasphemies, as many as they utter” (Mark 3:28).
If you chose to receive this amazing Grace, you must do so in your living years.
I hope and pray that you will feel convicted to do so and act on it.
The special message I promised you:
For anyone who may read this article and has not trusted in Jesus Christ and therefore has no hope or peace in your life.
You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior. The peace that passes understanding.
It requires that you come before God on His terms and that you do so in your living years.
And, what are His terms according to His Word?
- Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
- Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
- That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
- To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
- Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross and rose from the grave three days later, conquering death, just as He promised.
- To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.
God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.
- No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
- No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
- Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.
If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying, “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.
“Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).
There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.
The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God, with all your heart, He will hear you.
“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
