Dear Readers,
This is installment #3 in a series called “The Amazing Millennium, from A to Z.”
Seth, my fellow commentator, is a dear friend of mine. We wrote this book in 2016. It is available on Amazon Kindle, complete with beautiful pictures and a large appendix of additional resources at https://www.amazon.com/Marvelous-Millennium-Picture-Seekers-Truth-ebook/dp/B01M3VXDXP
G is for God-Governed
Psalm 2:6,10-11
“For the Lord declares, ‘I have placed my chosen king on the throne in Jerusalem, on my holy mountain…. Now then, you kings, act wisely! Be warned, you rulers of the earth! Serve the LORD with reverent fear, and rejoice with trembling.’”
Revelation 5:9-10
“And they sang a new song with these words: ‘You are worthy to take the scroll and break its seals and open it. For you were slaughtered, and your blood has ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. And you have caused them to become a Kingdom of priests for our God. And they will reign on the earth.’”
Asher: This has to be the greatest single blessing of the Millennial Age, because all other blessings flow out of this one great truth—Yeshua is in charge! With the Lord on the throne at last, all peoples will receive both justice and mercy! With King Jesus ruling in Zion, there will be peace, safety and prosperity for all! And here is a wonderful surprise—in our glorified bodies, we will be made fit to rule and reign alongside the king, for, as Paul reminded Timothy, “If we endure hardship, we will reign with him” (2 Timothy 2:12).
Seth: We will be Jesus’ police officers, his judges, his teachers, his doctors, and every other job that he has for us to assist in leading his wonderful world. Jesus Himself promised us that “the meek shall inherit the earth.” He rewards the gentle-hearted by putting us in charge of his new paradise. Jesus is called our good shepherd because he cares for each and every one of us and leads us to live safe and plentiful lives. This is mostly ruined right now by the curse of sin on the earth, but in the Kingdom, Jesus will shepherd the nations with a rod of iron. This means that he will defend the meek with swift action against people who seek to disrupt the wonderful society we will have. As his followers, it will be our honor and our joy to assist him in this duty.
H is for Holy
Zechariah 13:1
“On that day a fountain will be opened for the dynasty of David and for the people of Jerusalem, a fountain to cleanse them from all their sins and impurity.”
Jeremiah 3:17
“In that day Jerusalem will be known as ‘The Throne of the Lord.’ All nations will come there to honor the Lord. They will no longer stubbornly follow their own evil desires.”
Asher: Merriam-Webster’s online dictionary defines “holy” as “exalted or worthy of complete devotion as one perfect in goodness and righteousness.” Jesus is exactly that! He is perfect in goodness and righteousness, and because that is true, he inspires complete devotion in himself and in his cause because he is worthy! It even gets better…He has promised to make us like himself when we see him (I John 3:2). Imagine a world where holy thoughts, clean speech and righteous deeds are heard and seen everywhere with very few exceptions! That world will soon be here! Have you asked God to make you ready to be part of it? Only He can! “And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he (Jesus) is pure…” (I John 3:3).
Seth: The enduring struggle for holiness is one that we cannot win in this present mortal state. The fall from grace ruined our wholeness. But God is perfect in holiness and wholeness…He lacks nothing. He is perfectly complete in knowledge, power, and righteousness. While Christ grows our faith and character continually as we walk with him in this life, our total potential will be fully realized when we enter into his holy Kingdom. Think of any area in your life where you fall short. This will be wiped away for eternity when we are made holy!
I is for Inclusive
Daniel 7:13-14
“As my vision continued that night, I saw someone like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient One and was led into his presence. He was given authority, honor, and sovereignty over all the nations of the world, so that people of every race and nation and language would obey him. His rule is eternal—it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed.”
Isaiah 56:6-7
“I will also bless the foreigners who commit themselves to the Lord, who serve him and love his name, who worship him and do not desecrate the Sabbath day of rest, and who hold fast to my covenant. I will bring them to my holy mountain of Jerusalem and will fill them with joy in my house of prayer. I will accept their burnt offerings and sacrifices, because my Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
Asher: Speaking about those who accept the truth of Jesus Christ, Peter said this, “Of a truth, I perceive that God is no respecter of persons, but in every nation, he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him” (Acts 10:34-35).
In the Millennial age, men everywhere will become united in the common fear of God and their common desire to please Him by doing works of righteousness. During the 1000-year reign of Christ, we will see blacks and whites, Asians and Hispanics, Arabs and Jews embracing together in the joy of being included in the “Forever Family” of God!
Seth: Man has been trying to achieve peace through unity ever since we tried working together to build the Tower of Babel. That effort did not work because men’s hearts were evil. They still are. God knows that unity is not possible for men until their hearts are united by their common allegiance to God’s appointed king. When King Jesus comes, His Kingdom will finally have this issue settled. We will be able to all love one another and become one inclusive humanity. All nations will go up to Zion to worship the one true God!
J is for Just
Psalm 98:7-9
“Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise! Let the earth and all living things join in. Let the rivers clap their hands in glee! Let the hills sing out their songs of joy before the Lord, for he is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world with justice, and the nations with fairness.”
Isaiah 11:2-4a
“And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. He will delight in obeying the Lord. He will not judge by appearance nor make a decision based on hearsay. He will give justice to the poor and make fair decisions for the exploited. The earth will shake at the force of his word, and one breath from his mouth will destroy the wicked.”
Asher: It is impossible for the Son of God to sin, to err, to forget, to misjudge or to be negligent. When he sits on the throne of David, his judgments will be prompt, perfect and praiseworthy. He can do nothing less! Proverbs 29:14 tells us this, “If a king judges the poor fairly, his throne will last forever.” The perfect justice which the great king will administer will secure His throne for all time!
Seth: In ancient Israel, people loved to go to the open-air courts to follow criminal cases. It is no different from today. We have dozens of court TV shows and crime scene investigation programs. Most people seek some degree of justice. The deep-seated desire for perfect justice is a fruit of the Holy Spirit and makes believers crave the justice of the perfect King. Remember that Jesus declares: “Blessed are all those who hunger and thirst after righteousness.” In God’s coming kingdom on earth, that hunger and thirst will finally be satisfied.
