This article is an appeal to those who continue to ignore the discomfort caused by their awareness of a substantial increase in the degradation of conditions in the world, and that any sense of things going “back to normal” is an illusion. Whatever once constituted “normal” is in an accelerating state of degradation as the prophecy of (Romans 1:18-32) explains. (Please see the Special Message at the end of this article.)
The Bible: Undeniable source of Truth and proof of God’s Sovereignty.
What was once the distant future (Book of Daniel):
The prophet Daniel was prompted by the Holy Spirit to record the following when he was terrified and confused about the revelations given to him of future events. He asked for help from the Lord to understand them, but he was told:
“But you, Daniel, shut up these words and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will roam to and fro, and knowledge will increase” (Daniel 12:4). Emphasis added.
In closely following verses, a degree of clarification was divulged, but God did not intend that Daniel should understand these events at that time. They were prophetic revelations intended to be understood in what was then the distant future (but is now this present day), when knowledge would increase exponentially. (General and technological, which would enable the fulfillment of prophesied worldwide events, and Biblical, when understanding God’s future prophecies would become comprehensible.)
“I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, ‘My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?’ “Go on your way, Daniel,” he replied, “for the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. Many will be purified, made spotless, and refined, but the wicked will continue to act wickedly. None of the wicked will understand, but the wise will understand” (Daniel 12:8-10). Emphasis added.
Who are the “wise” and why will they understand? The “wise” refers to those who have received Jesus Christ as their One and Only Lord and Savior, and as a result, received also the blessing of the indwelling Holy Spirit of God. It is the Spirit of God who enables the understanding of the Words of God. It is not human intellect.
“Guard, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, the treasure* which has been entrusted to you” (2 Timothy 1:14). Emphasis added. *Biblical discernment, knowledge of His Word, and the Faith and Love of Christ.
“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13a).
Anyone who receives Jesus Christ also receives this treasure. It is a promise of God.
Consequently, the Holy Spirit also reveals the state of those who are unsaved:
“The natural man does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:14). Emphasis added.
What was “normal” in the 1950s underwent a paradigm shift in the 1960s. Many of us alive today can easily attest to the degradation that has occurred over the ensuing years. That’s not just older people grumbling. It is justifiable vexation based on observation of truth. The fulfillment of (2 Timothy 3:1-5) couldn’t be more obvious.
This often referenced Bible verse, which emphasizes its application to the “last days,” is an accurate assessment of these conditions and an accurate description of the present human condition that has now become the new normal due to worldwide individual as well as national rejection of God (2 Timothy 3:1-5).
I have not copied these verses into this text as I believe that if the reader will not make the effort to look them up and confirm the accuracy of their reality, which has become so entrenched in today’s culture, it is unlikely to be of any benefit. It is a simple matter to look them up online (Biblehub.com). Or examine a Bible if you possess one, or acquire one if you do not.
Jesus indicated that most people will choose to reject God’s Mercy:
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it” (Matthew 7:13-14). Emphasis added.
What awaits those who decide to “wait and see,” unknowingly fulfilling a tragic prophecy of God?
“They will say, ‘Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation” (2 Peter 3:4).
Those who have chosen this course will partake of God’s wrath instead of His Mercy when He executes the prophesied judgments promised in the Book of Revelation, beginning in Chapter 4, verse 1, on a Christ-rejecting world.
“For at that time there will be great tribulation, unmatched from the beginning of the world until now, and never to be seen again” (Matthew 24:21).
Yet, even during this 7-year time of His judgment, He will still save anyone who will recognize their sin, repent of it, and call on the name of Jesus; however, they will still have to try and survive, and they must not take the mark of the beast no matter what they are faced with, including death for becoming a believer in Christ.
The eternal consequences of taking this “mark” are explained in Revelation 14:9-11.
The “Wait and See”: eternal burden of pride and missing out on the Rapture of the True Church. Please see the link below to understand the Rapture.
A Warning: Those who adopt a “wait-and-see” attitude for too long run the risk that accompanies mockery and willful rejection of God. Their heart may become so hardened that they find themselves unable to repent and respond to God’s Mercy, even if they become aware of the terrifying consequences.
“And the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness, and men began to gnaw their tongues in anguish and curse the God of heaven for their pains and sores. Yet they did not repent of their deeds” (Revelation 16:10-11). Emphasis added.
Jesus foretold conditions that would prevail at the end of the age. He also offered this message of hope to those who have repented and received Him as their One and Only Savior and Lord prior to the 7-year Tribulation. (Time of Jacob’s Trouble, Daniel’s 70th week)
“Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near” (Luke 21:28).
The “Now”: God has declared the “now” in that He has extended His Mercy during this “Age of Grace” that we presently live in, but you must act while you are yet in your living years. If you do this, you will not miss the Mercy and Grace of the Rapture. (see below)
“For He says: ‘In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.’ Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2). Emphasis added.

The special message I promised you:
For anyone who may read this article and has not trusted in Jesus Christ and therefore has no real hope or peace in your life.
You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior. The peace that passes understanding.
It requires that you come before God on His terms and that you do so in your living years.
And, what are His terms according to His Word?
- Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
- Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
- That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
- To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
- Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross and rose from the grave three days later, conquering death, just as He promised.
- To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.
God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.
- No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
- No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
- Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.
If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying, “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.
“Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).
There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.
The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God, with all your heart, He will hear you.
“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
