2026: Need to Read Proverbs 3:5-6 All Year :: By Dave Hubley

2026: Need to Read Proverbs 3:5-6 All Year :: By Dave Hubley

I took a few weeks off from writing in order to try and let Christmas and its real meaning have priority over my thoughts. As He always does, God delivered the peace and mental calm I prayed for (Psalm 23:1-4), (Proverbs 3:5-6), (Isaiah 46:9-10).

There may be a lot of discomfort in reading this article, but it is clear that things are happening at the present time that defy any attempt to understand them logically and especially rationally (Psalms 14:1, 53:1), (Isaiah 32:6). But they are happening.

Thus, the increased need for remembering and leaning on Proverbs 3:5-6.

Explanations by the world for aberrant behavior have become so debauched and depraved that they cannot be understood, even in the minds of their own makers.

It is unnecessary to detail the fraud, abuse, debased thinking, arrogant attitudes, and lawlessness that fill the news. We can’t escape it. There is just too much of it.

World events have “crossed the Rubicon.” They have digressed beyond repair.

Is there any reason to hope that any of the lawbreaking politicians will be reined in and brought to actual justice by hapless and corrupted federal agencies? (Isaiah 10:1) All we’ve seen thus far, despite numerous claims of proof, is evasion and endless speeches promising that justice will be delivered. But lawlessness still prevails.

Is there any reason to expect any country, even this one, to survive when every single day criminal behavior is championed by deviants, crooked lawyers, and a debased judiciary? (Proverbs 17:23) The fraud is astonishing. The pits get deeper.

Is there any reason to believe that this country can survive a purposed invasion of people whose culture is diametrically opposed to our constitution, structure of government (Republic – not democracy), and who are outspoken in their desire to destroy it – and us. And many of the politicians and so-called judiciary are enabling it!

Is it even comprehensible that a high-profile, so-called conservative that has been active in media for decades doesn’t know anyone who has been killed by radical Islam! Maybe he doesn’t know them personally, but it is abundantly clear that the numerous victims and their grieving friends and relatives did. Does he have to know them? They’re just as dead regardless. What vacuous and shallow thinking!

These murderous rampages are happening somewhere every day, whether anyone wants to believe it or not.

It is what it is, as we used to say so often in the military.

I have included numerous Bible verse references, but I have not reproduced them in this article for a specific reason. Are you willing to put in the effort to confirm their warnings?

It is not difficult to find them and read them if someone is truly looking for Truth, and the Truth is, God’s Word is rapidly becoming the only place where it can be found (Psalm 119:160).

Can truth still be found in some human sources? Yes, but that light was built upon Biblical Truth. It is barely visible now and is soon to go out (2 Thessalonians 2:10).

BibleHub.com is a good source for those who will put in an effort. You can easily find the verses and cross-references for them on the same page. For those who are not willing and justify it by saying, “Well…I don’t believe in God.”

Everyone will believe in God (Isaiah 2:10-22), (Romans 14:11).

Empirical Truth and Future Prophetic Truth can only be found in Jesus Christ (John 14:6), and it is becoming clearer for those who have ears to hear and eyes to see.

Now, back to work in this temporal time in which we live (Ezekiel 33:6).

As I write this, 2025 is mercifully ending, but it is ending on a note of rapid acceleration of depravity and delusion, wars and rumors of wars (Matthew 24:6, Mark 13:7, Luke 21:9), just as the prophecies declare these days will be like.

Now, 2026 is upon us.

The worship of the god of fortresses (military might and weaponry), and mounting rejection of the One True God, will likely precipitate His continued releasing of His influence on the stability of the natural world in terms of weather, geophysical phenomenon, and uncontrollable pestilences (likely perpetrated and enhanced by human depravity).

We are seeing these things beginning to manifest now, but I think they have only been “previews of coming attractions,” as they say in the movie business.

Truth be told, I think 2026 is going to eclipse 2025 in every sphere that is related to and confirmed by its relationship to the dictates of evil in terms of the activities of man.

The pressure of these activities of man, unbridled and amplified (2 Timothy 1:3-5), the proof of man’s nature (Jeremiah 17:9), and God’s revelation of it in its entirety (Romans 1:18-32) are clearly seen.

The adherence to this path in real time in this world provides all the proof one needs – if one is willing to be honest with herself or himself.

It has always been true that wise decisions must be based on reality (Luke 14:8). Reality is not optional. This principle applies to every facet of human endeavor.

Now to the crux of this article (Jeremiah 6:14).

The world is on the fast track to failure and self-destruction. If you place your trust and bet your future on human governments, their leaders, and their empty promises, you will have no eternal future. You may prosper for a time here, but how many of us have witnessed a U-Haul or a Brinks truck in a funeral procession? (Proverbs 23:5), (1 Timothy 6:7).

The Veracity and Truth of the Word of God are becoming clearer by the hour, both in terms of general knowledge, but more importantly, understanding the future prophecies given by that Word (Daniel 12:4), (Joel 3:1-16), (all of Revelation).

Many deny (and even mock) this today. God’s Word addressed that nearly 2,000 years ago (2 Peter 3:3-4), and Paul cautioned about it (Galatians 6:7).

The major and specific prophecies relative to alignment of nations and current converging political events are fairly easy to soberly detect and observe now, but:

It’s the prophecies relative to depraved human behavior in its many horrible manifestations that are now becoming a warning claxon to the world (Matthew 24:37, Luke 17:26-27). These verses relate to the conditions described in Genesis 6:5 and Genesis 18:20, and the world still strives to deny God (1 Thessalonians 5:3).

Lawlessness now reigns at every human level (1 John 3:4).

As we begin 2026, I believe we must ask ourselves if we see the world improving.

The time for procrastination is, I believe, over. I will include a copy of these three verses in an attempt to encourage unbelievers (and even some believers) to wake to the realities we now see (Romans 13:11), (2 Peter 1:19).

“Seek the LORD while He may be found; call on Him while He is near” (Isaiah 55:6).

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).

“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).

There is only One anchor from the storm that is building, and it is up to you to act, but you must do so while you are still in your living years. I pray that you will.

For anyone who may read this article and has not trusted in Jesus Christ and therefore has no real hope or peace in your life.

You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior. The peace that passes understanding.

It requires that you come before God on His terms and that you do so in your living years.

And, what are His terms according to His Word?

  • Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
  • Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
  • That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
  • To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
  • Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross and rose from the grave three days later, conquering death, just as He promised.
  • To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.

God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.

  • No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
  • No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
  • Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.

If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying, “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.

“Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).

There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.

The answers are in the Word of God–The Bible. If you ask God, with all your heart, He will hear you.

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
