Refining Daniel’s 70th Week Timeline :: By Randy Nettles

Refining Daniel’s 70th Week Timeline :: By Randy Nettles

I have refined my views on several biblical topics throughout the years (or decades). None of them were regarding the central tenets of Christianity, such as the belief in one God, the Trinity, the divinity of Jesus Christ, salvation by grace through faith, and the authority of the Bible. Most of the things I have changed my mind on have been about the timing of biblical events or prophecies, especially eschatological ones, such as when Jesus prophesied about his second coming as recorded in Mathew 24:36 and Mark 13:32. “But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only” (Matthew 24:36).

Is the topic of Matthew 24:36 (and Mark 13:32) referring to the second coming of Christ or the coming of Christ at the pre-tribulation Rapture? There are well-known and respected Bible teachers and scholars on both sides of this controversial issue. John F. Walvoord, Jack Kelley, and Thomas Ice are a few learned men who believe these Olivet Discourse verses refer to the Second Coming. Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum, Dave Hunt, and Terry James are among the learned men who believe these verses refer to the pre-tribulation Rapture.

I have changed my mind several times throughout the years regarding this eschatological topic. For many years, I believed the “day and hour” of Matthew 24:36 and Mark 13:32 referred to the second coming, as that was what Jesus had been referring to in the preceding verses. Later, after much research and contemplation, I now believe these verses in the Olivet discourse refer to the Day of the Lord (‘day’) and the hour of the Rapture (‘hour’).

The Day of the Lord consists of the Rapture, the gap of time between the Rapture and the start of Daniel’s 70th week, Daniel’s 70th week (the seven-year Tribulation), and the Second Coming. Since the timing of the Rapture is an unknowable event (with no signs that have to precede it, and no clues in the Bible about its timing), and it marks the beginning of the Day of the Lord, no one will know when the Day of the Lord will begin.

The coming (the Greek word/transliteration is parousia) of the Lord, mentioned by the synoptic gospel writers and Paul (1 Corinthians 15:23), comes in two parts (a two-part drama, if you will). The first part is at the Rapture, where Jesus meets the saints in the clouds, and the second part is at the Second Coming, where Jesus physically returns to the earth. These two parts are separated by at least 7 years (the seven-year Tribulation); thus, it is known as the pre-tribulation Rapture.

In 1 Corinthians 15:20-23, Paul mentions the resurrection of the dead at “His (Christ’s) coming.” He doesn’t specify whether it is His coming at the Rapture or His coming at the Second Advent. We know from other scripture (such as 1 Thessalonians 4:16 and 1 Corinthians 15:52) that the dead in Christ (Christians who have died since Pentecost 33 AD) will be resurrected at the Rapture. We also know from other scriptures that the Old Testament saints and the Tribulation saints will be resurrected after the Second Coming. I believe Paul is ‘lumping together’ the resurrection of the dead at the Rapture and the Second Advent. Likewise, Jesus could have combined the two parts of the “coming of the Son of man” in his Olivet discourse.

Another prophecy that I have changed my mind about is the timing of Daniel’s 70 Weeks prophecy in Daniel 9:24-27.

Initially, I believed in the ‘prophetic calendar’ (360 days per calendar year), that Sir Robert Anderson made popular, for reckoning the 69 ‘sevens’ of Daniel 9:25. Sir Robert Anderson’s reckoning of 173,880 days for the timeline of Daniel 9:25 is reckoned from Nisan 1, 445 BC to Nisan 10, 32 AD on the ‘prophetic calendar.’ Nisan 10 was the day Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey as king of the Jews (Daniel called him Messiah, the Prince or Ruler in verse 25), but was rejected as such.

Anderson reckoned March 14, 445 BC for Nisan 1 (445 BC). He determined that April 6, 32 AD was Nisan 10 (32 AD). However, based on AstroPixels, it’s more like Nisan 7. Regardless, from March 14, 445 BC to April 6, 32 AD is 173,882 days, not 173,880 days. You could add three more days for the Nisan 10 date (which would make it Nisan 10) to that total, bringing it to 173,885 days. Of course, we know 32 AD can’t be the year Jesus died, as Nisan 14 was on a Sunday or Monday that year. Jesus was crucified on a Thursday. See Solving the Three Day Three Night Mystery – Grace thru faith.

I believe the more likely timeline for Daniel 9:25 was from 444 BC to 33 AD, as the late Bible scholar Harold Hoehner believed, rather than 445 BC to 32 AD, as Anderson believed. I also never thought, as some Bible teachers do, that the starting date began in 458 BC (when Ezra came to Jerusalem) and ended in 26 AD (when Jesus began his ministry), thus placing Jesus’ crucifixion in 30 AD.  I haven’t changed my mind on the timing or the duration of this prophecy, just on the way I reckoned it.

If you believe the timeline for Daniel 9:25 was from 444 BC to 33 AD, the 360-day ‘prophetic calendar’ is the only one that accommodates 483 years…or so I thought at the time. However, the text of this verse doesn’t mention 483 years; it only mentions “sixty-two and seven weeks (or sevens)” or “69 weeks” (or 69 seven-year periods called Shemitah cycles). The problem with using the ‘prophetic calendar’ to reckon Daniel 9:25 is that the Jews have never used it in their entire history (at least until Moses’ time).

If the Jews in Jesus’ time were supposed to have known when their Messiah was to come (as Jesus said in Luke 19:42), how would they have known to use a calendar that they had never used before? Even if they knew they were to use a prophetic calendar of 360 days, that would mean they would have to count 173,880 days (483 years of 360 days per year), or 30 days per month for 5,769 months. Of course, this would be in addition to keeping up with their standard lunisolar calendar, in which they reckoned their religious observances (the Feasts of the Lord) in their proper seasons.

I find all this highly unlikely and believe the accurate calendar used in Daniel’s prophecy (Daniel 9:25) is the one the Jews had always used, which is the lunisolar calendar. The children of Israel already had a calendar in place for keeping track of long spans of time: the Shemitah (or Shmita) cycle (seven years) and the Jubilee cycle (49-50 years).

Harold Hoehner’s reckoning has some flaws as well, though he is correct about the starting and end years (IMO). His beginning date is off by 1 month, and his end date is off by 1 day (IMO). Hoehner postulates that the starting date, Nisan 1, fell on March 5, 444 BC, and the end date was March 30, 32 AD. However, that is 173, 884 days and not 173, 880 days.

Hoehner’s starting date for Nisan 1, March 5, 444 BC (on the Julian calendar), corresponds to a (proleptic) Gregorian date of February 28. That is too early in the year (as Nisan 15 would be before the vernal equinox), so an intercalary month should have been added. This would make Nisan 1 Thursday, April 2, 444 BC (on the Julian calendar), which is, ironically, the same day of the week (Thursday) and the Julian date (April 2) on which Christ was crucified in 33 AD (IMO).

Hoehner’s end date for Nisan 10 (when Jesus rode into Jerusalem as king of the Jews) is March 30, 33 AD (Julian calendar), which fell on a Monday. However, I believe Jesus rode into Jerusalem on Sunday (Palm Sunday), Nisan 10, which would have been March 29, 33 AD. From Thursday, April 2, 444 BC to Sunday, March 29, 33 AD, there are 173,855 days. It’s still not 173,880 days (483 ‘prophetic’ years x 360 days per year).

So, the question is, “if the ‘prophetic calendar’ wasn’t used as the basis for the 483 years of Daniel 9:25, how do you explain the timeline of 444 BC – 33 AD, which has only 476 solar years?”

In my 2022 article, The Sabbath of The Seventh Year :: By Randy Nettles – Rapture Ready, I  explained my reasoning for the timeline of 444 BC to 33 AD for the 69 ‘sevens‘ of Daniel 9:25. I also gave charts that explained which years were Shemitah years and where they belonged in the Jubilee cycles of 49/50 years.  A year later, in my article Sevens :: By Randy Nettles – Rapture Ready, I slightly revised my reckoning of when the Shemitah years began for Israel (after entering the Promised Land) by one year.

In this article I wrote, “I believe the first step to deciphering the 69 ‘weeks’ is to replace the word ‘weeks’ with ‘sevens’ as the correct translation. In this Scripture, I believe ‘sevens’ refers to the seventh year of the Shemitah cycle. The next step is to realize that Daniel was not counting years (483 years) or days (173,880 days), or even weeks/cycles (69 cycles), but only the Shemitah years themselves. There are 69 Shemitah years (including 444 BC and 33 AD), and 476 years (inclusive) within this timeline. In The 70 Sevens of Daniel 9:24 – Pete’s Rev310 Substack, I go into further detail on why this is the case by deciphering the original Hebrew words and their meanings in Daniel 9:24-27.

When comparing the 476 years (from 444 BC to 33 AD) on the proleptic Gregorian solar calendar to the Jewish lunisolar calendar, there is only a ten-day difference. There are 173,846 days in a Jewish calendar (Nisan to Nisan), and 173,856 days in a proleptic Gregorian calendar (January to January).

DANIEL’S 70TH WEEK

2520 DAYS

Regarding Daniel 9:27 and the 70th week (aka the Tribulation), I have revised my timing several times. Of course, I initially believed, as did the majority of Bible students, scholars, and theologians, that the seven-year Tribulation would last 2520 days, divided into two halves of 1260 days each. This was due to two reasons:

1) It was based on the 360-day prophetic calendar (like the 69 weeks/sevens of Daniel 9:25) that Sir Robert Anderson made famous. So, 360 days x 7 years = 2520 days.

2) The two mentions of 1260 days (“a thousand two hundred and threescore days”) in Revelation. The first mention of 1260 days appears in Revelation 11 and is believed to refer to the first half of the Tribulation. “And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth” (Revelation 11:3). The second mention of 1260 days appears in Revelation 12. It refers to the second half of the Tribulation. “And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days” (Revelation 12:6).

2550 DAYS

My next theory was that the Tribulation lasted for 2550 days. This was because of the 1290 days of Daniel 12:11, “And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.” I surmised that the first part of the Tribulation would be 1260 days, and the last part would be 1290 days.

THE JEWISH LUNISOLAR CALENDAR – 2540 OR 2569 DAYS

My most recent hypothesis about the Tribulation duration (aka Daniel’s 70th week) was that the seven years were based on the Jewish lunisolar calendar and would last either 2540 or 2569 days, depending on how many intercalary (leap) months were added in those seven years.

THE GREGORIAN CALENDAR – 2556 OR 2557 DAYS

However, recently, I have concluded that my 70th-week timeline might be flawed as well. I realize now that the Antichrist will not confirm or strengthen a seven-year covenant with Israel and the ‘many’ based on the Jewish calendar, but will do so based on the Gregorian calendar, either 2556 or 2557 days (depending on how many leap days are added in those seven years). It doesn’t make sense that, in these 21st-century times, the Antichrist would ‘confirm’ a seven-year (a ‘week’ per Daniel 9:27) covenant and base it on anything but our modern-day Gregorian calendar. He is not confirming a covenant with Israel only, but with “the many” (numerous Gentile nations).

So, whatever Gregorian calendar day the Tribulation begins on, it will ‘officially’ end seven years later on the same date (either 2556 or 2557 days later). The “forty-two months” (3.5 years) of Revelation 11:2 & 13:5 will last for 1278 or 1278.5 days, as 42 months x 30.43 days (average of 30-31 days per month) = 1278 days.

This is not to say the Jewish lunisolar calendar isn’t in play, because it is the flip side of the Gregorian calendar. Whatever Gregorian day the beginning, middle, and end of the Tribulation fall on (or whatever event transpires on a particular day), there will be a corresponding Jewish calendar day, which holds the greater prophetic significance, as some of these timeframes mentioned in Daniel and Revelation (1260, 1290, and 1335 days) will land on Feast of the Lord days.

The changes to my most recent (hypothetical) timelines are slight. In some seven-year timelines (those with a corresponding Jewish calendar of 2540 days), the starting date will change. The “in the midst” dates remain the same, but will now always fall in the exact middle of 2556 or 2557 days (either 1278 or 1278.5 days). Of course, the end dates will change slightly. The dates for the 1290 and 1335 days (from the Abomination of Desolation) of Daniel 12:11-12 will remain the same, but will now be post-Tribulation dates and events.

DANIEL’S 70th WEEK TIMELINE EXAMPLES

Let’s look at a couple of examples. The Jewish corresponding dates for my Gregorian calendar timelines are basically the same for either a 2540 or 2569-day calendar, except for the starting dates (in red). If it is a 2569-day seven-year timeline, the starting date will be Heshvan 10. If it is a 2540-day seven-year timeline, the starting date will be Tishri 10. This will become clearer from the charts below.  Let’s examine two upcoming seven-year timelines.

Author’s note: As I wrote about in Revising the Fixed Jewish Lunisolar Calendar :: By Randy Nettles – Rapture Ready, I consider the Jewish lunisolar calendar to be inaccurate for the years 2027, 2035, 2038, and 2043, where an intercalary month is added when it is not needed. The following tables are reckoned from Passover (Nisan 15 to the Jews) occurring on or after the vernal equinox (March 20 – Jerusalem time) and not the fixed Jewish lunisolar calendar (based on a predetermined intercalated Metonic cycle), which still uses March 25 for the date of the vernal equinox (a leftover from the Julian calendar).

2026-2033 (2557 Gregorian calendar days)

2569 days on the Jewish religious (Nisan-Nisan) and civil (Tishri-Tishri) calendars

Start: Wed., Oct. 21, 2026 (Heshvan 10).  *Note 1 (See notes below)

1260 Days From the Start: Wed., April 3, 2030 (Nisan 1)  *Note 2

Middle (1278.5 Days From the Start):  Sunday, April 21, 2030 (Nisan 19)  *Note 3

1251 Days From the Middle: Friday, Sept. 23, 2033  (Tishri 1)  *Note 4

1260 Days From the Middle: Sunday, Oct. 2, 2033 (Tishri 10)  *Note 5

End (1278.5 Days From the Middle and 2557 Days From the Start): Friday, Oct. 21, 2033 (Tishri 29)  *Note 6

Post Trib. (1290 Days From the Middle): Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2033 (Heshvan 10)  *Note 7

Post Trib. (1335 Days From the Middle): Friday, Dec. 16, 2033 (Kislev 25)  *Note 8

Notes:

*1: The start of the Tribulation (Daniel’s 70th week -Daniel 9:27) and the start of the 1260-day ministry of the two witnesses of Rev. 11:3-12. For the Jews, it begins on the 10th day of the 8th month of their religious (Nisan1 – Nisan1) lunisolar calendar. Heshvan 10 is not an insignificant date on the Jewish calendar. See But as the Days of Noah Were :: By Randy Nettles – Rapture Ready.

*2: The end of the 1260-day ministry for the two witnesses, per Rev. 11:3. “And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.” Their deaths occur on the 1st day of the 1st month, Nisan 1, on the Jewish calendar (at the time of the dark new moon conjunction of spring). This is the day the Antichrist begins his 42-month (1278.5 days) reign as King of the Earth, per Revelation 13:5. It is a dark day indeed! Also, see note 5.

*3: This is the 1278.5th day from the start of the Tribulation (or 42 months by the Gregorian calendar). This is the exact middle of the Tribulation. On this day, the Antichrist commits the abomination of desolation. “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate.” In this scenario, the A.O.D. occurs on the biblical (Sunday) Feast of Firstfruits, which in 2030 AD falls on the 19th day of the 1st month of the Jewish calendar. Nisan 19 is also the 5th day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread.

*4: Jesus’ second coming to the Earth on Rosh Hashanah (the Feast of Trumpets), as described by Revelation 19:11-19. Notice the Gregorian calendar date (September 23). Rosh Hashanah always takes place on Tishri 1, at the time of the new moon conjunction of autumn. This begins the 10-day war (during the Ten Days of Awe) between Jesus Christ and the forces of the Antichrist.

*5: Jesus defeats the Antichrist and destroys the remnant of his army (Revelation 19:19-21 & Isaiah 63:1-6) during the Ten Days of Awe. The tenth day is Tishri 10, Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement), the holiest day of the year for the Jews. In 2033, it will have been 60 years since the Jewish victory in the Yom Kippur War of 1973. This will occur on the 1260th day after the A.O.D. It will also have been 42 months (1278.5 days) since the A.C. began his absolute rule as the King of the Earth (See note 2). These 1278.5 days fulfill the prophecies of Revelation 11:2 and 13.5, regarding “forty-two months.”

*6: This is the last day of the Antichrist’s seven-year covenant with the many (of course, he broke the covenant midway), and marks the end of the Tribulation. It occurs 1278.5 days after the A.O.D. (the middle of the Tribulation) and 2557 days after the start of the Tribulation. It is also the 3.5 years or “time, times, and a half” mentioned in Daniel 12:7. The Tribulation ends seven days after the last day of Sukkot (the Feast of Tabernacles). Jesus will have fulfilled all three fall Feasts of the Lord by this time, just as He fulfilled the spring Feasts of the Lord during His first coming.

*7: This is the 1290th day (after the A.O.D.) of Daniel 12:11, “And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.” The. 1290th day will be the fulfillment of Daniel 12:2a, the Resurrection of the Old Testament saints (and the Tribulation saints). “And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life.” Also, verse 10 says, “Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried.”

*8: Kislev 25 is the first day of Hanukkah. This will be the blessed 1335th day (after the A.O.D.) of Daniel 12:12, which I believe is the start of the millennial reign of Jesus Christ. “Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.” Also, as Hanukkah represents the cleansing and rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem, I believe the Millennial Temple of Ezekiel 40-48 is in view at this time.

2028-2035 (2556 Gregorian calendar days)

2540 days on the Jewish religious (Nisan-Nisan) and civil (Tishri-Tishri) calendars

Start: Friday, Sept. 29, 2028 (Tishri 10) *Note 1 (see notes below)

1260 Days From the Start: Friday, March 12, 2032 (Nisan 1)  *Note 2

Middle (1278 Days From the Start): Tuesday, March 30, 2032 (Nisan 19)  *Note 3

1251 Days From the Middle: Sunday, Sept. 2, 2035 (Tishri 1)  *Note 4

1260 Days From the Middle: Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2035 (Tishri 9/10)  *Note 5

End (1278.5 Days From the Middle and 2556 Days From the Start): Saturday, Sept. 29, 2035 (Tishri 27)  *Note 6

Post Trib. (1290 Days From the Middle): Thursday, Oct. 11, 2035 (Heshvan 10)  *Note 7

Post Trib. (1335 Days From the Middle): Sunday, Nov. 25, 2035 (Kislev 25)  *Note 8

Notes:

*1: The start of the Tribulation (Daniel’s 70th week -Daniel 9:27) and the start of the 1260-day ministry of the two witnesses of Rev. 11:3-12. For the Jews, it begins on the 10th day of the 7th month of their religious (Nisan1-Nisan1) lunisolar calendar. This day is Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) and the holiest day of the year for the Jewish people. What a day for the Antichrist to confirm the covenant with Israel!

*2: The end of the 1260-day ministry for the two witnesses, per Rev. 11:3. Their deaths occur on the 1st day of the 1st month, Nisan 1, (at the time of the dark new moon conjunction of spring) on the Jewish calendar. This is the day the Antichrist begins his 42-month (1278.5 days) reign as King of the Earth, per Revelation 13:5. Also, see note 5.

*3:  This is the 1278.5th day from the start of the tribulation (or 42 months by the Gregorian calendar). This is the exact middle of the Tribulation. On this day, the Antichrist commits the abomination of desolation. “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate.” In this scenario, in 2032, the A.O.D. occurs on the 19th day of the 1st month of the Jewish calendar. Nisan 19 is the 5th day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread.

*4: Jesus’ second coming to the Earth on Rosh Hashanah (the Feast of Trumpets), as described by Revelation 19:11-19. Rosh Hashanah always takes place on Tishri 1, at the time of the new moon conjunction of autumn. This begins the 10-day war (during the Ten Days of Awe) between Jesus Christ and the forces of the Antichrist.

*5: Jesus defeats the Antichrist and kills the remnant of his army (Revelation 19:19-21 & Isaiah 63:1-6 ) during the Ten Days of Awe. The tenth day is Tishri 10, Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement), the holiest day of the year for the Jews.

It occurs 1278 days after the A.O.D. (the middle of the Tribulation) and 2556 days after the start of the Tribulation. It is also the 3.5 years or “time, times, and a half” mentioned in Daniel 12:7. The Tribulation ends five days after the last day of Sukkot (the Feast of Tabernacles). Jesus will have fulfilled all three fall Feasts of the Lord by this time, just as He fulfilled the spring Feasts of the Lord during His first coming.

*7: This is the 1290th day (after the A.O.D.) of Daniel 12:11, “And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.” I believe the 1290th day will be the fulfillment of Daniel 12:2a, the Resurrection of the Old Testament saints (and the Tribulation saints).

Every seven-year timeline (when reckoning by the phases of the moon and the vernal equinox and not the fixed intercalated Metonic cycle the Jews currently use) will follow one of these two examples. The start will always occur on either Tishri 10 or Heshvan 10, depending on whether it is a 2540-day or a 2569-day Jewish calendar for those particular seven Gregorian years. That is, if you follow the basic rule that Nisan 15 must be on or after the vernal equinox. It’s actually pretty remarkable.

2026-2033 is my favorite timeline for the Tribulation for five reasons.

1) This timeline is almost identical to the seven-year timeline of 33-40 AD, which would have been the 70th week of Daniel 9:24,27 if the Jews had accepted Jesus as their Messiah King. See Daniel 9:24-27 Prophecy: Weeks or Sevens? :: By Randy Nettles – Rapture Ready. The dates for the Feasts of the Lord (and Hanukkah) in 2026-2033 AD and 33-40 AD are almost identical on the 21st-century Gregorian calendar and the 1st-century Julian calendar. This 1st-century seven-year timeline has 2569 days in the Jewish lunisolar calendar and 2557 days in the (proleptic) Gregorian calendar, as does 2026-2033.

As I mentioned before, when comparing the 476 years (from 444 BC to 33 AD) on the proleptic Gregorian solar calendar to the Jewish lunisolar calendar, there is only a ten-day difference. There are 173,846 days in a Jewish calendar (Nisan to Nisan), and 173,856 days in a proleptic Gregorian calendar (January to January). If you add the 2557 Gregorian days of the 70th week to the 173,856 (proleptic) Gregorian days within the 69 ‘sevens,’ there are 176,413 days total. If you add the 2569 Jewish days of the 70th week to the 173,846 Jewish days within the 69 ‘sevens,’ there are 176,415 days total. That is only a two-day difference.

2) If Jesus returns (Second Coming) in 2033, it will have been 2000 years since he was last on the earth (as far as we know). When you reckon in the Hosea 6:2 prophecy of two days for the LORD (or 2,000 years for the LORD per Psalm 90:4 & 2 Peter 3:8) to 33 AD, the math adds up to 2033, minus the seven-year Tribulation, giving you the year 2026. See The Season of the Lord’s Return :: By Randy Nettles – Rapture Ready.

3) The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations members in 2015, created 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Agenda 2030 has 17 goals to solve all the world’s problems under the leadership of the United Nations’ unelected officials by 2030. All nations are required to follow their guidelines to bring about this new utopia on earth. They are to relinquish their national sovereignty and become a member of the New World Order. All members will be required to submit to the authority of the one-world government of the United Nations. 2030 marks the midpoint of the proposed 2026-2033 Tribulation timeline, when the Antichrist will become the undisputed ruler of the world, as the ten kings will give their authority to him (per Revelation 17:12-13).

4) 2025-2026 is the 3,430th (7 x 7 x 7 x 10) year from 1406-1405 BC, when the Israelites entered the Promised Land. 3,430 years is the equivalent of 490 Sabbath (or Shemitah) cycles (3430 ÷ 7 = 490). If the Shemitah (and Jubilee) cycle/s began in (Tishri to Tishri) 1406-1405 BC, and is reckoned continuously regardless of the Jews leaving re-entering the land, and if the 50th year is also the first year of the following Shemitah week, then 2025-2026 AD is the 70th Jubilee year for the Jews.

Additionally, if 3968 BC marks the beginning of mankind’s creation, as I discussed in The Hepta Week Cycle For Six Millennia of Mankind :: By Randy Nettles – Rapture Ready, then 33 AD would have been mankind’s 4000th year (or four days for the LORD) and 2033 AD would be mankind’s 6,000th year (or six days for the Lord).

5) There are 153 days from May 21, 2026 (Sivan 5) to the start of the (proposed) Tribulation, October 21, 2026 (Heshvan 10). May 21, 2026, is the 3rd day before Pentecost, so it is one of the ten days of awe on the Christian calendar, as I wrote about in The Other Ten Days of Awe – by Pete and Randy nettles. I believe the great catch of 153 fish in John 21:11 is spiritually and numerically significant and is not just a random number. Several early Church theologians, such as Jerome, Augustine, and Gregory the Great, also believed 153 was more than just a random number.

Augustine and Gregory the Great used mathematics and (biblical) numerology to try to solve the ‘underlying’ meaning or significance of 153 fish. They both agreed that the number 17 was the main number involved in the breakdown of 153. The number 17 is the 7th prime number and is the sum of 7 and 10, two of the perfect numbers of God. So the number 17 represents the perfection of spiritual order, as does 153.

Augustine used addition, summing all the digits up to and including 17 to obtain 153. Gregory, on the other hand, simply multiplies 17 by 3 and again by 3 (17 x 3 x 3), and thus arrives at 153. The numbers 17 and 3 represent resurrection, as Jesus was resurrected on Nisan 17, the 3rd day after his crucifixion. Jesus died at the ninth (3 x 3) hour, 3:00 pm Jerusalem time, on Nisan 14, 33 AD, after 3 hours of supernatural darkness (Matthew 15:33). John 19:30 records Jesus’ last 3 words, “It is finished.”

2028-2035 is my second-favorite timeline for the Tribulation, despite it only having 2540 days in the Jewish calendar. There are two reasons why I think this timeline could be prophetically significant.

1) The (proposed) Tribulation begins on a Feast of the Lord day, Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement), the holiest day of the year for the Jews. This would be just like the Antichrist to confirm a covenant with Israel on the Day of Atonement (and then break it three-and-one-half years later on one of the days of Passover).

2) As I wrote about (and my tables show) in Sevens :: By Randy Nettles – Rapture Ready, 2027-2028 might be the 70th ‘seven’ (the 70th Shemitah year) of Daniel 9:24, and the 490th Shemitah year since the Israelites entered the Promised Land. This would make 2028-2029 the 70th Jubilee. 2028-2035 would be the 491st Shemitah week or cycle. The 1st-century year 33 AD aligns with the 21st-century year 2028 AD, as there are 105 Metonic cycles between them (105 x 19 = 1995 years).

3) There are 120 days from June 1, 2028 (Sivan 8), to the start of the (proposed) Tribulation, September 29, 2028 (Tishri 10). June 1, 2028, is 3 days before Pentecost (on June 4, 2028), so it is one of the ‘ten days of awe’ on the Christian calendar. The number 120 holds significant meaning in the Bible, often symbolizing divine completeness or a divinely appointed time of waiting. Moses died at the age of 120, after completing his work for the Lord. Acts 1:15 notes that 120 disciples gathered in the upper room before Pentecost. This gathering emphasized preparation for receiving the Holy Spirit.

God determined a 120-year period would be given for repentance, and then the flood waters would come (Genesis 6:1-3). The great flood was a harbinger of the Tribulation. “And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood” (Revelation 12:15). “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” (Matthew 24:37).

Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
