I have included a special message at the end of this article for those who have reached that point where the burden of evidence that the world is spinning out of control is overwhelming. I hope you will read and take to heart what God requires in order to give His free gift of eternal life, as He has declared is His will for all who trust in Him.
“The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). Emphasis added.
This timely article (19 Oct 25) by Mark Hitchcock appeared in Harbingers Daily:
It is what prompted me to write this article relative to the possible correlation between the subject of Mark’s article and the verses below from Isaiah Chapter 2.
The construction of underground shelters and similar redoubts by quite a number of wealthy individuals and governments is fairly widespread today and indicates that there is a fearful awareness of an impending disaster by the God-rejecting world.
There is a question asked frequently on weblogs and on YouTube channels about people who are doing these things – “Do they know something that we don’t?”
In Truth, it is we who study God’s Word who know something that they don’t.
As time goes on, some of God’s prophetic details that had appeared to be somewhat vague begin to merge with present-day human activities. It is like a prophetic lightbulb being switched on. Peter spoke of this in 2 Peter:
“And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19).
When the reports of wealthy people constructing these hardened bunkers began to surface, I started to ponder whether the details of Isaiah 2 might be coming into focus. Given the vast number of people alive today, and that there are only so many natural geological resources to exploit, why does this prophecy refer only to “caves in the rocks and holes in the ground.”
Now it begins to make perfect sense. God’s Word is never wrong. The lamp in a dark place becomes brighter – they are digging them!
Those of us who understand that the Word of God is to be taken literally (a belief that has been proven by the many already fulfilled prophesies) – as well as the inevitable fulfillment of all the remaining prophesies contained within its pages – also know that each of them must be fulfilled in minute detail.
I believe it also serves to confirm God’s foreknowledge of every human thought and/or action, not only spiritually, but in every other sphere of His created order.
This is further clarified by the Words of this proclamation of His sovereignty:
“Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is no one like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, ‘My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure’” (Isaiah 46:9-10).
Could the below verses from Isaiah chapter 2 (Verses 17-21) be the detailed fulfillment of this 2,700+/- year old prophecy?
A judgment of mankind at the end of the age (Emphasis added):
“So the pride of man will be brought low, and the loftiness of men will be humbled; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day, and the idols will vanish completely” (Isaiah 2:17-18).
>The futile attempt to escape the Sovereignty of God.
“Men will flee to caves in the rocks and holes in the ground,
away from the terror of the LORD and from the splendor of His majesty,
when He rises to shake the earth” (Isaiah 2:19).
>Unbelieving man’s panicked reaction to the realization that the Truth of His Justice and judgments has arrived.
“In that day men will cast away to the moles and bats their idols of silver and gold—the idols they made to worship. They will flee to caverns in the rocks and crevices in the cliffs, away from the terror of the LORD and from the splendor of His majesty, when He rises to shake the earth” (Isaiah 2:20-21).
These lost souls, whose thinking has been polluted by wealth and hubris, resort to actions that will fail to protect them from execution of judgments that cannot even be imagined by those who do not comprehend the power and might of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
They “cast away” their wealth and idols as they realize they are worthless.
“Even from eternity I am He, And there is no one who can rescue from My hand; I act, and who can reverse it?” (Isaiah 43:13). Emphasis added.
The AI monster is unleashed?
Ever since the subject of Artificial Intelligence (and now its many variants – AGI and ASI) became prevalent in world events, it occurred to me that this technology could provide answers to and provide clarity for the means by which many of the prophecies in the Book of Revelation might be fulfilled.
In my ruminations, it seems very likely that some form of AI will be used by the antichrist in the creation of the image prophesied to be employed by his handler:
“He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed” (Revelation 13:15).
As this technology advances, it is not difficult to imagine mankind being able to accomplish this, and, with the Lord having given man over to the evil that thrives when God is rejected (Psalms 14:1/53:1), the ancient verses that describe this possibility also are becoming clearer in their possible, modern-day manifestation:
“The LORD said, ‘If as one people speaking the same language, they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them’” (Genesis 11:6). Emphasis added.
Today, that language is easily understood to be “computerese,” and it is able to overcome any barriers to human communications and endeavors.
As the focus of the ancient prophecies continues to sharpen, Daniel’s prophecy becomes clearer as it applies to general human knowledge:
“But you, Daniel, shut up these words and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will roam to and fro, and knowledge will increase” (Daniel 12:4).
As an example of a dual meaning, dual fulfillment prophecy, this knowledge may also be referencing the understanding of God’s will, His Sovereign Power, and His meaning in saying that He “declares the end from the beginning,” as voiced by Sir Isaac Newton:
“About the time of the End, a body of men will be raised up who will turn their attention to the prophecies, and insist upon their literal interpretation, in the midst of much clamor and opposition.” –Sir Isaac Newton.
Now to the crux of this article.
As we watch the inexorable unfolding of His Word and observe its accurate depiction of the current state of humanity, and God’s response to it (Psalm 2), we must be certain to truly place all of our Trust in Him and Him alone as He declares:
“Put no more trust in man, who has only the breath in his nostrils.
Of what account is he?” (Isaiah 2:22).
God’s Word clearly indicates that He will intervene in the affairs of man in order to ensure that there will be anyone left alive.
“If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them” (Mark 13:20).
The self-destruction that mankind pursues, whether admitted to or not, and the ongoing rebellion and hatred of Him, will necessitate this action.
The judgments of the Book of Revelation are actually a blessing.
Left to his own devices, mankind would bring about complete destruction of all life on this planet.
The special message I promised you:
For anyone who may read this article and has not trusted in Jesus Christ and therefore has no hope or peace in your life.
You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior. The peace that passes understanding.
It requires that you come before God on His terms and that you do so in your living years.
And, what are His terms according to His Word?
- Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
- Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
- That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
- To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
- Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross and rose from the grave three days later, conquering death, just as He promised.
- To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.
God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.
- No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
- No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
- Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.
If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.
“Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).
There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.
The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God, with all your heart, He will hear you.
“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
