A 1958 television program called ‘Trackdown’ feature a con man named Trump who offered the people safety by building them a wall, saying ‘only I can save you!’
There are moments in modern culture where the shadows of Bible prophecy seem to flicker across the screen long before the events themselves ever show up in the world. Such is the case with the 1958 CBS Western Trackdown and its now-infamous episode “The End of the World.” In it, a mysterious drifter named Trump rides into a frightened Texas town, warns them the world is ending, and declares that only he can save them — if they’ll pay him to build a wall. You can’t make this stiff up, and this aired almost seven decades ago. That’s the memo.
“The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.” Ecclesiastes 1:9 (KJB)
For years the episode circulated quietly among classic-TV enthusiasts, but when clips resurfaced, the dialogue was so on-the-nose that people thought it had been edited or fabricated. It wasn’t. CBS News, archival footage, and multiple fact-checks confirm the character’s name is “Dr. Walter Trump,” and his message to the townspeople is unmistakable:
“Trust me. I can build a wall around your homes that nothing will penetrate. Only I can save you!”
A con man named Trump promising salvation through a wall… in 1958? Welcome to the wacky and totally unpredictable world of predictive programming.
Predictive Programming and the Spirit of Antichrist
Predictive programming is the idea that entertainment — films, shows, books — pre-seeds the public mind with imagery, narratives, and symbols of events that will later appear in reality. It is Satan’s long game: preparing the world for something before it arrives, softening the ground so the lie goes down smooth when it finally comes.
And Scripture tells us plainly that such a process must happen before the rise of Antichrist.
“And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” 2 Thessalonians 2:8-10 (KJB)
The “mystery of iniquity” has been working for nearly two thousand years, pushing culture toward submission, deception, and eventual worship of “that Wicked” who is yet to be revealed. Hollywood — with its endless parade of false prophets, messiahs, disasters, and saviors — has long been one of Satan’s favorite tools.
So when a 1958 television show puts a false prophet named Trump in front of a desperate town predicting the end of the world, demanding money, building a wall, and using fear to corral the masses, it fits perfectly into the pattern of deception the Apostle Paul warned us about.
The Con Man, the Wall, and the Last Days Deception
In Trackdown, Trump’s power comes not from truth, but from fear. The townspeople lose their reason; they obey him, fund him, and even commit crimes because of the terror he stirs up. The sheriff becomes corrupt. The town becomes hysterical. And Trump grows stronger.
That is exactly the dynamic Jesus warned about for the Tribulation:
“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” Matthew 24:24 (KJB)
- A false prophet claiming he alone can prevent destruction?
- A panicked population handing over their freedom to a charismatic deceiver?
- A promised structure — a wall — said to offer supernatural protection?
Sure sounds a lot like the Trump we have in the White House right now. Wasn’t it Donald Trump who said we have to build a wall to be safe? Wasn’t it Donald Trump who has repeatedly said that only he can save us? So ask yourself, what are the chances of all of this showing up in a long-forgotten television show in perfect detail?
