BIBLE BELIEVERS SUNDAY SERVICE: May God Speed The Days

BIBLE BELIEVERS SUNDAY SERVICE: May God Speed The Days

It should be the heart cry of every born again Christian for God to speed the days to hasten the fulfillment of His promise to come get us

Beloved, we are living in the last hours of the Church Age. Every headline, every upheaval, and every spiritual tremor shouts the same truth — the Lord Jesus Christ is soon to come. And for those of us who know and love Him, our hearts cry out, “May God speed the days!”

“Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.” 2 Peter 3:11-14 (KJB)

We are not clinging to this world; we are looking for another. We are not hoping that man will fix what sin has broken; we are waiting for the Lord who alone can make all things new. The Apostle Peter asks, “What manner of persons ought ye to be?” — that is, if we truly believe this world is about to be dissolved, then how should we live? Let’s examine together this morning what it means to long for His appearing and to pray with all our hearts, “May God speed the days.”

SUNDAY SERVICE STUDY NOTES: May God Speed The Days

May God Speed The Days

I. The Cry of the Saints — “Even So, Come, Lord Jesus”

“And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.” 1 Thessalonians 1:10 (KJB)

Scripture: Revelation 22:20; Titus 2:13; Romans 8:22–23

  • The believer’s heart groans for the redemption of the body and the completion of God’s plan.
  • The Spirit and the bride both say, “Come.” (Revelation 22:17)
  • Our prayer, “May God speed the days,” is not a wish for destruction, but a yearning for consummation — for the Lord to set things right.
  • In a world sinking under sin and apostasy, we look upward, not inward or outward.

II. The Corruption of the Present World — “The Days Are Evil”

“Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:16 (KJB)

Scripture: Ephesians 5:15–16; 2 Timothy 3:1–5; Luke 17:26–30

  • The Bible declares these are “perilous times.”
  • The moral decay of Noah’s day and the sensual wickedness of Lot’s day are now in full display.
  • Governments rebel against God, churches fall into apostasy, and truth is cast down.
  • Every prophetic marker points toward the closing moments of the Church Age.
  • The Lord will not speed the days for a careless church but for a watchful remnant who long for His appearing.

III. The Comfort of His Promise — “I Go to Prepare a Place for You”

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:1-3 (KJB)

Scripture: John 14:1–3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; 1 Corinthians 15:51–52

  • The Rapture is the next great event on God’s calendar.
  • Our blessed hope is not survival in the tribulation, but translation before it begins.
  • “May the Lord speed the days” is the believer’s cry to accelerate the gathering of the saints.
  • The longer we stay here, the more we see that this world is not our home.
  • Comfort one another with these words.

IV. The Call to Holy Living — “What Manner of Persons Ought Ye to Be”

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.” 1 John 3:1-3 (KJB)

Scripture: 2 Peter 3:11–12; Romans 13:11–14; Philippians 3:20–21

  • The knowledge of the Lord’s soon return is meant to purify us, not paralyze us.
  • If we truly believe time is short, we must walk in holiness, separation, and zeal for souls.
  • Redeem the time — every witness, every tract, every prayer counts.
  • God’s timetable is fixed, but our obedience can hasten His program through evangelism and faithfulness.

V. The Consummation of All Things — “Behold, I Make All Things New”

“And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.” Revelation 21:5 (KJB)

Scripture: Revelation 21:1–5; Isaiah 65:17; Romans 8:18–21

  • The Lord will burn away the corruption of sin and establish a new heaven and a new earth.
  • The millennium will display His righteousness; eternity will display His glory.
  • Every tear will be wiped away, every injustice righted, every promise fulfilled.
  • Until that moment, the true believer’s heart beats with one cry:

“May God speed the days!”

Conclusion:

“And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.” Romans 13:11 (KJB)

  • This world is running on borrowed time.
  • The signs are everywhere — Israel restored, global deception rising, the spirit of antichrist at work.
  • The Church must not despair but rejoice and occupy until He comes.
  • As we labor and watch, we say with the Apostle John:

“He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” Revelation 22:20 (KJB)

We have a Gospel Billboard program. We are now broadcasting Bible studies, Podcasts and a Sunday Service 5 times a week, thanks to your generous donations. All this is possible because YOU pray for us, YOU support us, and YOU give so we can continue growing.
