(There is a special message at the end of this article for those who might happen to read this and do not have Jesus in their life and are looking for peace and a way to better understand the present-day insanity and confusion.)
In the third chapter of the Book of Joel, God makes it clear that He will judge “all the nations” and His reason for doing so.
We should clearly understand that, unlike human pledges and/or promises or even written contracts, in the Word of God, ALL means ALL.
We know that, ultimately, sin is the reason that God will judge every individual person (Romans 3:23/ 6:23).
However, as His Word makes clear, this prophecy in Chapter 3 of the book of Joel is directed at the “nations” [Gentile, heathen nation, people (see Strongs Hebrew word #1471)] as opposed to individual people who decline to repent and receive Jesus Christ: God’s One and Only Savior. (Please, see the “special message” at the end of this article).
“Yes, in those days and at that time, when I restore Judah and Jerusalem from captivity, I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will enter into judgment against them concerning My people, My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations as they divided up My land. They cast lots for My people; they bartered a boy for a prostitute and sold a girl for wine to drink” (Joel 3:1-3) Emphasis added.
This recent article describes what is portrayed as an abandonment of the much-touted “two-state solution” that has been belabored by the world over many past years.
https://allisraelnews.com/blog/trump-prepares-to-ditch-two-state-solution
From the article: “The parameters for the successful conclusion of negotiations between Israel and Jordan would include:
- Redrawing the international border between Israel and Jordan to include within Jordan the majority of Arabs currently living in Judea and Samaria – not requiring them to move from their current homes and businesses.
- Demilitarization of – and total Israeli security control over – all the newly-acquired territory of Jordan located west of the Jordan River.”
I have taken the liberty of bold printing a portion of the article above in order to make my point.
NOTE: Such consideration could also have been extended to the Jewish residents of Gaza when they were totally uprooted from their homes and businesses in 2005.
But it wasn’t.
The present American administration is very supportive in words and in actions in backing Israel, yet it still actively participates in dividing of Israeli borders and acting contrary to God’s clear directives.
I don’t believe that any amount of verbally expressed or even military support for Israel can obfuscate the fact that if this nation continues on the present path that it is actively participating in, which still constitutes dividing God’s land, America will be judged by Him accordingly. Perhaps, this may partially answer the oft-heard statement by those who wisely study His prophetic Word, that America, despite its current status as a world power, is not mentioned in the prophetic promises of God in His Word.
Perhaps it may help to explain the ongoing severe weather across the country and the chaos in our cities and streets brought about by our own government. If so, it would not be the first time that God made His displeasure known in this fashion among the nations of the world – and in God’s eyes, America is just one more nation (Isaiah 40:15).
As well, these conditions are now worldwide as the oscillating support for, then (primarily) denunciation, of Israel continues to grow. The “Sea and the Waves roar louder every day (Luke 21:24-26), and there is no peace (Isaiah 48:22).
I do not see any real difference between this “peace plan” and past annexations/divisions of Israel’s borders that were established by God in His promise to Abraham and his descendants. Over the years since May 14, 1948, when Israel once again became a nation-state as God prophesied some 2,700+/- years ago (Isaiah 66:7-9), the world’s dictatorial attitude has only become more strident.
All these plans, supposedly because they will appease Israel’s enemies (but have always resulted in no peace at all), have guaranteed continued conduct that results in chaos, and because it is done without regard to God, further confirms the veracity of His Word.
There is an old saying that is often attributed to Albert Einstein: “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
This is simply another version of the continuing disregard of God’s sovereign declaration of what comprises the land inheritance of His people. It is only hubris.
But more importantly, due to blind and unjustified hatred of the Jews because they are Jews, the world elects to forget or intentionally ignore who the actual owner of the land is:
“‘The land shall not be sold permanently, for the land is Mine; for you are strangers and sojourners with Me” (Leviticus 25:23) Emphasis added.
It is not difficult for the world to continue to attempt to do this: It just requires choosing to deny God and His Word (Romans 1:18-20).
Further along in Joel, God clarifies His plans for judging the nations, and it is consistent with the descriptions of the judgments He will execute during the final week of years known as the 70th week of Daniel, or more commonly, the Tribulation (see Daniel 9:26b-27).
“Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the Day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. The sun and moon will grow dark, and the stars will no longer shine. The LORD will roar from Zion and raise His voice from Jerusalem; heaven and earth will tremble. But the LORD will be a refuge for His people, a stronghold for the people of Israel” (Joel 3:14-16).
I believe present-day Israel is a nation reborn, thus far in unbelief, a fulfillment of (Ezekiel 37:1-14). As such they act in much the same way as so many other human governments and make many of the same poor decisions and mistakes, but they also have a right to life and human dignity as does everyone else.
America, and the rest of the world, would do well to understand this promise by God (Genesis 12:3). Denying this and hatred of Jews just because they are Jews is inviting His curse and judgment as He promised.
Many falsely argue that Israel must somehow be excused when they err because they are God’s chosen people and that it’s not “fair.” This is a weak argument.
They are presently separated from God because of their unbelief, and it is apparent in the workings of their largely secular government. They have been judged by God more harshly than any other nation, and that will continue until the day comes when they cry out to and acknowledge their Messiah, Jesus Christ (Matthew 23:39/Luke 13:35), as Jesus promised in His Word.
Now to the crux of this article.
Jesus, in the Olivet Discourse, said the following: “Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God” (Matthew 5:9).
We know that there are no conflicting statements or idle declarations in the Word of God, so how do we interpret this verse?
I don’t know entirely, but I do know this: As with prayer, a “peacemaker’s” efforts must be in conformity with the will of God. If these efforts are not, then they may be more accurately described as appeasement or the product of human pride and arrogance.
If God’s will and His Word are ignored or set aside, there is no likelihood they will be blessed by Him.
Over the years, there has been a sort of frantic effort on the part of America and America’s leadership to be the “one” to bring about peace in the Middle East, as though that is the end in itself. It is a dangerous path to tread in opposition to God.
God’s Word and His will do not change. He does not compromise:
“God is not a man, that He should lie, or a son of man, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?” (Numbers 23:19).
The Word of God does not provide any justification for expecting mankind to succeed in solving this ongoing dilemma. Instead, God makes this declaration in Isaiah 2:22:
“Put no more trust in man, who has only the breath in his nostrils. Of what account is he?”
On that basis, the Sovereign Lord will intervene in the world as He has promised.
This age-old prayer applies here: “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
It will be.
If you feel the call of the Holy Spirit of God in these very last days, I hope you will read just a little further. If you choose to act, you must do so in your living years.
The special message I promised you:
For anyone who may read this article and has not trusted in Jesus Christ and therefore has no hope or peace in your life.
You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior. The peace that passes understanding.
It requires that you come before God on His terms and that you do so in your living years.
And, what are His terms according to His Word?
- Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
- Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
- That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
- To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
- Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross and rose from the grave three days later, conquering death, just as He promised.
- To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.
God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.
- No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
- No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
- Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.
If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying, “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.
“Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).
There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.
The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God, with all your heart, He will hear you.
“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
